Albert Pujols cracked a homer and had 2 RBI as the Wall St Millionaires beat
the Boston Stranglers by a score of 6 to 0.
 
Wall St started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of the
first scoring one runner utilizing 2 base hits.  That was all Oliver
Perez(6-11) needed.  Wall St had 12 hits for the afternoon while Boston had
6.  
 
C.C. Sabathia(9-10) was charged with the loss.  The Wall St ballclub's record
now stands at 52-51.  Terry Francona was unhappy with his club's recent
performance.  'We can't keep losing games' he said.  'It gets to be
embarrassing after a while.'

The Minnesota SnowBirds pitching coach might be looking for a new job soon.
His team allowed 10 runs while Curt Schilling(7-4), with relief help from Lee
Gardner, surrendered 2 runs to Minnesota in a laugher.
 
Brandon Phillips had a big evening at the plate.  He doubled knocking in a run
in the 1st inning, smashed a two-run homer (his 19th of the season) in the
2nd inning and slapped a one-base hit in the 8th inning.  Philadelphia had 13
hits for the game and Minnesota had 7.  
 
Wandy Rodriguez(7-9) was given the loss.  He pitched 2/3 of an inning and
surrendered 3 hits and 1 walk.

Ryan Howard slammed a homerun and had 4 RBI as the Pinehurst Pin Oaks topped
the Binghamton Brawlers by a score of 7 to 5 at Shea Stadium.
 
Howard had a big day against Binghamton.  He doubled in the 4th inning and
clubbed a three-run home run (his 29th of the season) in the 7th inning.
This was a game of many highs and lows for the home town fans, as the lead
kept changing - 6 times in all.  
 
The win was credited to Miguel Batista(12-5) who went 8 innings allowing 5
runs. J.J. Putz got the save, his 27th.  Mike Wuertz(0-1) took the loss in
relief.  
 
'It's been a rough ride lately, but this was a good win for us' said Mike
Hargrove, 'Maybe this will put us back on track.'

Brad Lidge(2-2) did what was required of him in relief and came away with the
win.  He allowed 1 hit and 2 walks in 1/3 of an inning.  Yardley totaled 14
on the night.  
 
Lidge was helped out by Rodriguez who recorded his 22nd save.  Matt Capps(6-1)
ended up with the loss in relief.  He surrendered 3 runs and 3 hits without
retiring a batter.

11 batters in 8 and 1/3 innings.

Paul Konerko jacked one out of the ballyard and had 3 RBI as the Toronto Scrub
AL1 defeated the Detroit 40's 7 to 4 at Comerica Park.
 
Konerko had a good day at the plate.  He doubled resulting in a run in the 6th
inning, hit a bases-empty home run (his 23rd of the season) in the 8th inning
and doubled which scored a run in the 9th inning.  Toronto ended up with 11
hits for the game while Detroit had 8.  
 
Brandon Morrow(4-1) allowed no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Morrow got relief help from Chad Cordero who gained credit for his
9th save.  Zack Greinke(1-3) was hit with the loss in relief.  He allowed a
few too many baserunners giving up 5 hits and 3 walks in 2 and 2/3 innings.

Third baseman Aramis Ramirez hit a homerun and had 3 RBI at RFK STADIUM where
the Atlanta Prohibitioners beat the Washington Scrub NL1 12 to 6.
 
Ramirez had a big day with his bat.  He hit a single in the 2nd inning,
delivered a solo blast (his 16th of the season) in the 4th inning and smacked
a one-base hit plating two runs in the 5th inning.  Atlanta dominated
offensively as they scored in 6 different innings.  
 
Jon Garland(6-10) picked up the victory, allowing 6 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings.
Lenny Dinardo(6-7) was the losing pitcher.  He got hit pretty hard, allowing
8 hits and 2 walks in 4 and 1/3 innings.  
 
With this win, Atlanta has a 47-53 record.  They have been 4-6 lately.  With
this loss, Washington has a 6-4 record of late, 43-59, worst in the division
overall.
