Shortstop Jimmy Rollins connected with a 'big fly' and had 3 RBI at Wrigley
Field where the Wall St Millionaires beat the Boston Stranglers 8 to 3.
 
Wall St went ahead for good in the bottom of the 2nd inning with 2 runs on 2
hits.  Alfonso Soriano got things going when he banged out a single.  Pedro
Feliz next to the plate and he drew a walk.  Bengie Molina then slapped a
single knocking in a run.  Shane Victorino dug into the batters box next, but
he struck out.  Kaz Matsui stepped into the box and would ground out scoring
the final run of the inning.  Wall St had 12 hits overall, while Boston had
8.  
 
The winning pitcher was Tom Gorzelanny(8-8) who allowed 3 runs in 5 and 2/3
innings. Justin Verlander(9-7) took the loss.  He was unable to control the
Wall St offense and allowed 9 hits and 2 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.

defeated the Minnesota SnowBirds by a score of 6 to 2 at Citizen's Bank
Park.

Joe Beimel delivered 3 and one third solid innings and Garrett Atkins hit a
homerun and had 3 RBI as the Binghamton Brawlers won in dramatic fashion over
the Pinehurst Pin Oaks by a score of 7 to 5 at Shea Stadium.
 
Binghamton scored the decisive runs in a big bottom of the 9th inning with 3
runs using 3 hits.  Dmitri Young led off and started the rally when he
delivered a single.  Jose Reyes stepped up next and he delivered a one-base
hit.  Orlando Hudson then laid down a sacrifice bunt.  Atkins was up next and
he lofted a three-run bomb (his 15th of the season) making Binghamton the
winners and sending the 22,536 fans home happy.  Binghamton finished with 13
hits while Pinehurst ended up with 9.  
 
Beimel(2-1) allowed no runs in 3 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the victory.
J.J. Putz(1-2) absorbed the loss in relief.  'Now that is what I call fun! I
just love baseball, especially games like this, of course,' Bob Melvin
offered.  'Everyone at the stadium had a great time - did you see the fans go
wild there at the end?!'

Isle SeaGulls beat the Yardley Oaks 6 to 0.
 
Peavy(15-1) had a strong outing.  He didn't give up much, just 3 hits and 3
walks in 7 and 1/3 innings.  The right-handed Peavy lost his chance for a
no-hitter when Carlos Guillen singled with nobody out in the 8th inning.  Sea
Isle had 15 hits for the afternoon while Yardley had 4.  
 
Fausto Carmona(10-9) ended up with the loss.  He allowed Sea Isle 6 runs in 5
and 1/3 innings of work.

In a good matchup it was the very potent Cherry Hill Maulers 4, the Sunshine
State Stalkers 2 at US Cellular Field.
 
Cherry Hill did all the necessary damage in the 7th inning when they tallied 4
runs on 4 hits.  The key at-bat was by Placido Polanco who came through for
the home fans when he lost the ball over the fence for three runs (his 9th of
the season).  Cherry Hill out-hit Sunshine State for the game, 10 hits to 6.
 
Daisuke Matsuzaka(7-6) went 7 innings allowing 1 run for the victory.
Matsuzaka was helped out by Joe Nathan who recorded his 34th save.  Rich
Hill(7-7) was hit with the loss.  He struck out 9 batters in 6 and 1/3
innings despite losing the game.
