Cherry Hill did all the necessary damage in the 7th inning when they tallied 4 runs on 4 hits. The key at-bat was by Placido Polanco who came through for the home fans when he lost the ball over the fence for three runs (his 9th of the season). Cherry Hill out-hit Sunshine State for the game, 10 hits to 6. Daisuke Matsuzaka(7-6) went 7 innings allowing 1 run for the victory. Matsuzaka was helped out by Joe Nathan who recorded his 34th save. Rich Hill(7-7) was hit with the loss. He struck out 9 batters in 6 and 1/3 innings despite losing the game.
