Colorado Scrub NL2 won a dramatic crowd-pleaser over Binghamton Brawlers at
Coors Field pulling it out in their last at bats, 7 to 6.
 
The game was decided in the 9th inning.  Juan Uribe delivered a solo blast
(his 12th of the season) giving Colorado the win and sending the home town
fans into a frenzy.  Although they lost, Binghamton did out-hit Colorado 14
to 8.  
 
Chad Qualls(6-4) got credit for the victory, pitching 1/3 of an inning and
allowing no runs. Carlos Villanueva(10-5) was charged with the loss.  He
pitched 8 innings allowing 8 hits and 2 walks.

Joe Blanton pitched a complete game and Mike Lowell had 2 base hits and 4 RBI
at Rogers Centre as the powerful Pinehurst Pin Oaks beat the pitiful Toronto
Scrub AL1 7 to 2.
 
Pinehurst set the tone of the game in the first inning as they scored 3 runs
on 3 base hits.  That early scoring was all that Blanton(14-9) needed.
Pinehurst finished with 12 hits in the victory.  
 
Kyle Lohse(7-11) was the loser.  He allowed a few too many baserunners giving
up 10 hits and 3 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.

Jeff Francis allowed Charlie Manual to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete
game as the Philadelphia Phranks defeated the Washington Scrub NL1 by the
score of 6 to 2 at RFK STADIUM.
 
Francis(16-1) was very good in the win.  He didn't give up much, just 7 hits
and 3 walks in 9 innings.  Philadelphia managed 10 in their victory.  
 
Paul Byrd(5-16) suffered the loss.  This win by Philadelphia continues their
recent hot streak.  In their last ten games, they have a record of 8-2.  For
the season, they are a division leading 82-51.  Frank Robinson was unhappy
with his club's recent performance.  'We can't keep losing games' he said.
'It gets to be embarrassing after a while.'

victor in the 11th inning.  Moises Alou started the inning off right when he
drew a walk.  Shane Victorino stepped into the batter's box and he laid down
a sacrifice bunt.  Jimmy Rollins then tripled which scored a run.  After
another out, Albert Pujols came to the plate and drew a walk.  Lance Berkman
came to the plate and singled scoring the final run of the inning.  Wall St
finished with just 4 hits in the victory.  
 
Jose Valverde(10-1) got the win allowing no runs in 2 innings. Derrick
Turnbow(1-5) suffered the loss in relief.  He surrendered 1 hit and 2 walks
in 1 and 2/3 innings.

Mark Teixeira blasted a grand slam at Yankee Stadium where the Yardley Oaks
beat the Cherry Hill Maulers in 10 innings by the score of 7 to 3.
 
The score was tied at 3 after nine.  Yardley won it in the 10th inning.  The
highlight belonged to Teixeira who made the crowd come alive when he
electrified the crowd with a Grand Slam home run (his 32nd of the season).
Yardley managed 9 in their victory.  
 
The winning pitcher was Joaquin Benoit(3-6) who allowed no runs in 1 inning.
Joe Nathan(4-9) ended up with the loss in relief.  He pitched 1 and 2/3
innings and surrendered 5 hits and 3 walks.

defeated the hapless Oakland Scrub AL2 by the score of 4 to 0 at
Metrodome.
 
Minnesota jumped out to the early lead in the first inning plating an isolated
run utilizing 3 base hits.  That was all Wandy Rodriguez(12-10) needed.
Oakland was out-hit by Minnesota, 10 hits to 5.  
 
Matt Belisle(4-19) absorbed the loss.  He gave up 4 runs and 10 hits in 6 and
1/3 innings.

Dustin Pedroia had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the Detroit 40's outscored the Boston
Stranglers 6 to 3.
 
Detroit tallied 3 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning with the help of 4
hits.  After an out was recorded, Pedroia began the Detroit spurt when he
slapped a single.  Delmon Young stepped up next and he doubled.  Edgar
Renteria was a strikeout victim, unable to help out.  Nick Markakis stepped
in and he doubled bringing in two baserunners.  Justin Morneau stepped into
the box and delivered a single.  Carlos Pena added to the rally and drew a
walk to load the bases.  Ryan Zimmerman stepped up to the plate and he drew a
walk scoring the final run of the inning.  Detroit had 9 hits overall, while
Boston had 6.  
 
The win was credited to Andy Pettitte(9-7) who went 8 and 1/3 innings allowing
3 runs. Jonathan Papelbon gained credit for his 37th save.  C.C.
Sabathia(12-13) was hit with the loss.

Catcher Chris Snyder had 2 base hits and Micah Owings completed the game
without help from the bullpen at Turner Field as the Sea Isle SeaGulls beat
the Atlanta Prohibitioners by the count of 7 to 3.
 
Sea Isle scored 3 runs in the top of the 2nd inning when they had 4 base hits.
That was all the runs Owings(5-4) needed.  Sea Isle rapped out 10 hits for
the night.  
 
Tom Glavine(3-17) suffered the loss.  He pitched 9 innings giving up 10 hits
and 1 walk.
