The red-hot Minnesota SnowBirds edged the Wall St Millionaires at Wrigley
Field by the score of 4 to 3.
 
Erik Bedard(9-13) delivered a fine performance for Minnesota.  He was reached
for 5 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings.  Wall St threatened in the 9th but their
rally came up short.  
 
Bedard got help from Alan Embree who was credited with his 4th save.  John
Smoltz(10-14) ended up with the loss.  Minnesota extended their winning
streak to 9 games.

Ted Lilly carried a no-hitter into the 6th inning and Chase Utley had 3 base
hits and 2 RBI at Comerica Park where the potent Sea Isle SeaGulls beat the
Detroit 40's by the score of 6 to 2.
 
Lilly(16-11) looked very much in control throughout the night.  He surrendered
only 1 hit and 1 walk in 6 innings.  Lilly chalked up 7 strikeouts.  The
left-handed Lilly lost his no-hit bid when Edgar Renteria homered with two
outs in the 6th inning.  Sea Isle had 10 hits for the night while Detroit had
2.  
 
The loss was charged to Jeremy Bonderman(10-10).  He surrendered 8 hits and 3
walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.

The Binghamton Brawlers finally stopped their 7 slide with the victory and
defeated the reeling Pinehurst Pin Oaks by a score of 5 to 2 at Angels
Stadium.
 
Jason Bergmann(9-5) pitched a solid game.  He went 7 innings surrendering 6
hits and 1 walk.  Binghamton had only 6 hits for the afternoon.  
 
Trevor Hoffman got the save, his 32nd.  Jamey Wright(1-1) took the loss.  He
allowed 5 hits and 5 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings.

Hanley Ramirez collected 2 extra-base hits at Turner Field as the Boston
Stranglers lost a heartbreaker to Atlanta Prohibitioners by the score of 7 to
6.
 
Atlanta won the game with a run in the 9th inning.  Ryan Spilborghs smacked a
single.  Ivan Rodriguez was the next batter, but he struck out.  Freddy
Sanchez followed, but he was set down on strikes.  Mark Loretta followed and
he tripled making Atlanta victorious to the delight of the the home town
crowd.  A wild and woolly affair, this game saw the lead change 5 times.
 
The victory went to Jon Rauch(7-1) who went 1 and 2/3 innings, allowing no
runs. Kevin Gregg(4-5) was hit with the loss in relief.  He gave up 1 run and
2 hits in 2/3 of an inning.

In a dramatic ending at Citizen's Bank Park the amazing Philadelphia Phranks
won in their last at-bat beating the Yardley Oaks by the count of 6 to
5.
 
Philadelphia scored the deciding run in the bottom of the 9th inning. Brandon
Phillips ripped a solo home run (his 32nd of the season) making Philadelphia
the winners and sending the 43,597 fans home happy.  Both teams finished the
game with 12 hits.  
 
The winning pitcher was Carlos Marmol(3-3) who allowed no runs in 1 and 2/3
innings. C.J. Wilson(1-4) was tagged with the loss in relief.  He surrendered
1 run and 2 hits in 1 inning.

The Cherry Hill Maulers toppled the Sunshine State Stalkers by a 6 to 2 score
at Dolphins Stadium.
 
Cherry Hill scored 5 runs in the top of the 7th inning when they had 5 base
hits.  The highlight belonged to Chone Figgins who deflated the spirits of
the home town crowd when he laced a one-base hit which was good for two runs.
Hideki Okajima pitched a perfect ninth to earn his 3rd save.  
 
Roy Oswalt(16-6) went 7 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the victory. Matt
Lindstrom(4-1) was tagged with the loss in relief.  He surrendered 3 runs and
3 hits in 2/3 of an inning.

Third baseman Troy Glaus went deep and had 3 RBI as the Colorado Scrub NL2
topped the Toronto Scrub AL1 by a score of 13 to 6 at Coors Field.
 
Glaus had a good evening at the plate.  He doubled in the 1st inning, stroked
a single in the 2nd inning and lofted a three-run bomb (his 12th of the
season) in the 4th inning.  For the game Colorado out-hit Toronto 18 to 11.
 
The winning pitcher was Matt Morris(4-19) who allowed 5 runs in 5 innings.
Eric O'Flaherty(0-1) took the loss in relief.  He surrendered 3 runs in 2 and
2/3 innings and saw his ERA increase from 3.48 to 4.85.
