In a good matchup it was the Boston Stranglers 7, the Pinehurst PinOaks 5 at
Camden Yards.
 
Boston erupted with the game winning runs in the top of the 9th inning with 2
runs utilizing 2 base hits.  Chris Davis started the attack as he smashed a
solo-shot out of the park (his 1st of the season).  Bobby Abreu stepped up to
the plate and he cracked a solo homerun (his 4th of the season).  A wild
affair, this game saw the lead change 5 times.  
 
Ervin Santana(2-1) went 8 innings allowing 5 runs for the win. Santana got
help from Joakim Soria who earned his 3rd save.  Ramon Ramirez(1-1) took the
loss in relief.  He surrendered 2 hits and 1 walk in 2 innings.

At McAfee Coliseum the Oakland Scrub AL 2 easily handled the Minnesota
SnowBirds by the score of 9 to 5.
 
Oakland scored 4 runs in the 3rd inning when they had 5 base hits.  It was
enough to earn the victory.  Both teams ended up with 12 hits on the night.
 
The win was credited to Greg Smith(1-0) who went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 4
runs. George Sherrill earned the save, his 2nd.  Cliff Lee(2-1) suffered the
loss.  He was knocked around, surrendering 9 runs in 8 innings.

a hard fought contest.
 
C.C. Sabathia(1-1) delivered a fine performance for Cherry Hill.  He was
reached for 8 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings lowering his ERA from 5.79 to
4.91.  Both teams finished the game with 8 hits.  
 
Sabathia was helped out by Francisco Rodriguez who recorded his 5th save.  The
losing pitcher was Dan Haren(0-3).  He pitched 8 innings and surrendered 8
hits and 2 walks.

Mike Napoli cracked a homer and had 2 RBI as the Yardley Oaks topped the
Toronto Scrub AL 1 by a score of 7 to 2 at Yankee Stadium.
 
Yardley had 4 runs cross the plate in the bottom of the 7th inning with the
help of 6 hits.  The key at-bat was by Lance Berkman who came through for the
home fans when he blasted a two-run home run (his 4th of the season).  The
game was a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.  
 
Matt Thornton(1-2) was the winner allowing 1 run in 2 innings. Dana
Eveland(0-2) was hit with the loss.  He pitched 6 and 1/3 innings giving up 7
hits and 4 walks.

Winn enjoyed a big day at the plate.  He ripped a base-knock plating a run in
the 1st inning, hit a bases-empty home run (his 2nd of the season) in the 2nd
inning, laced a base-knock in the 3rd inning, doubled in the 5th inning and
banged out a single in the 9th inning.  Binghamton bats were hot in the 1st
inning which saw them plate 5 runs on 7 hits and the 2nd inning with 7 runs
on 6 hits.  Binghamton had 28 hits overall, while Colorado had 6.  
 
Ryan Dempster(2-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 innings and allowing
3 runs. Cha Seung Baek(0-1) was the loser.  He gave up 6 hits and 1 walk in
1/3 of an inning.

Designated hitter Ronnie Belliard went deep and had 2 RBI at Turner Field as
the Sea Isle Seagulls beat the Atlanta Prohibitioners in 10 innings 6 to
4.
 
Both teams were tied at 4 runs apiece after nine innings.  Sea Isle was
victorious in the 10th inning.  Johnny Damon got things going when he stroked
a single.  Damon took his lead and swiped second.  Belliard then cleared the
fences for a two-run home run (his 1st of the season).  After another out,
Josh Hamilton was a strikeout victim, unable to help out.  Sea Isle rapped
out 10 hits for the night.  
 
Kerry Wood(1-0) got the win allowing 2 runs in 2 innings. The losing pitcher
was Brandon Webb(1-1).  He gave up 5 runs and 9 hits in 9 innings.

Matt Cain allowed just 3 hits and right fielder Carlos Beltran homered and had
3 RBI as the Wall St Millionaires defeated the Sunshine State Stalkers by a
score of 6 to 1 at Dolphins Stadium.
 
Cain(2-1) was tremendous on the mound for Wall St.  He allowed just 3 hits and
2 walks in 9 innings improving his ERA from 5.91 to 3.66.  Wall St totaled 9
hits on the night.  
 
Carlos Zambrano(2-1) was given the loss.  He pitched 5 and 2/3 innings giving
up 7 hits and 2 walks.
