The Minnesota SnowBirds had very little trouble at McAfee Coliseum downing the
Oakland Scrub AL 2. The score was 9 to 3.

The game started off with Minnesota taking the lead in the first when they
tallied 2 runs on 2 hits. Offensively, Minnesota was a juggernaut. They
scored in 6 separate innings.

Matt Garza(3-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 and 1/3 innings and
allowing 2 runs. Barry Zito(0-1) was the loser. He was knocked around pretty
good, giving up 5 runs in 3 and 2/3 innings.

The Minnesota ballclub's record now stands at a division leading 8-4. Still
in a bad slump, with this loss, Oakland is 2-8 lately and 2-9, worst in the
division on the year.

Bronson Arroyo reeled off a total of 10 strikeouts and Taylor Teagarden
smacked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Toronto Scrub AL 1 defeated the
Yardley Oaks 5 to 2 at Yankee Stadium.

Teagarden was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he
provided much of the offense for the visitors. He hit a bases-empty home run
in the 2nd inning, stroked a one-base hit plating a run in the 5th inning and
ripped a solo home run (his 2nd of the season) in the 7th inning. Both teams
ended up with 10 hits on the night.

Arroyo(1-2) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 8 and 1/3 innings. The losing
pitcher was Gavin Floyd(1-1). Arroyo, when asked about his 10 strikeout
performance noted, 'The important thing is that we won, if I get 20 and we
lose, what good does it do our team? But, on the other hand, since we won it
feels great!'
