The critical plate appearance was by Mark Teixeira who silenced the stadium when he smacked a three-run homer (his 3rd of the season). Yardley had a total of 9 hits for the game. The victory was credited to Scot Shields(1-1) who went 2 innings, allowing no runs. Shields was helped out by Joe Nathan who recorded his 3rd save. Jon Rauch(1-3) took the loss in relief. 'We just kept swinging the bats and didn't give up,' Escobar said. 'If you just keep trying good things can happen!'
