Toronto came up with the deciding runs in the 8th inning scoring 2 runs. Alexi Casilla led off and started the attack as he drew a walk. Eric Hinske next to the plate and he cracked a two-run shot (his 5th of the season). Paul Konerko was the next batter, but he struck out. Geoff Blum got his chance to keep things going, but he went down on strikes. Jon Rauch pitched a perfect ninth and was credited with his 2nd save. Joe Beimel(1-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 1 inning. Jose Valverde(0-2) took the loss in relief. He surrendered 2 runs and 1 hit in 1 and 1/3 innings. Atlanta set the tone of the game in the first inning scoring 3 runs using 3 hits. Cristian Guzman started the inning off right when he hit a single. After an out was recorded, Matt Holliday stepped up to the plate and he doubled. Pat Burrell then lofted a three-run 'big-fly' (his 2nd of the season). That was all Randy Johnson(2-0) needed. Brian Fuentes relieved and was untouched by Colorado as he recorded the save, his 5th. Zach Duke(1-4) was tagged with the loss. His ERA ballooned from 5.57 to 5.86 as he allowed 5 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings.
