At US Cellular Field the Yardley Oaks outscored the Cherry Hill Maulers 4 to
1.
 
Yardley took the lead for good in the 5th inning plating an isolated run on 2
hits.  Joe Nathan, after tossing a perfect ninth, was credited with his 4th
save.  
 
Gavin Floyd(2-1) was the winner allowing 1 run in 8 innings. The loss was
charged to C.C. Sabathia(1-3).  He pitched 9 innings allowing 9 hits and 4
walks.

Third baseman Rickie Weeks had 2 base hits and 3 RBI as the Oakland Scrub AL 2
defeated the Sea Isle Seagulls by the score of 5 to 4 at PNC Park.
 
Oakland delivered all the runs required in the 3rd inning as they scored 5
runs on 4 base hits.  That was all the offense they were to need.  Neither
team managed to score after the 4th inning.  
 
Fausto Carmona(1-0) went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 4 runs for the victory.
George Sherrill was credited with his 3rd save.  Jake Peavy(0-4) was charged
with the loss.  He gave up 5 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings of work.  
 
'It wasn't my best outing, but I'll take the win' Carmona said.

Adrian Gonzalez slammed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Boston Stranglers
defeated the Pinehurst PinOaks by a score of 4 to 2 at Camden
Yards.
 
Gonzalez provided the offensive punch.  He blasted a two-run home run in the
6th inning and cracked a solo homerun (his 8th of the season) in the 9th
inning.  Boston had a total of 9 hits for the game.  
 
The win went to Shaun Marcum(2-2) who allowed 2 runs in 8 innings. Joakim
Soria earned his 5th save.  Roy Corcoran(0-1) was the losing pitcher in
relief.  
 
Boston now has a record of 7-13.  With the loss, the Pinehurst ballclub's
record is 5-12, worst in the division.

Alexei Ramirez went deep and had 2 RBI at Citizen's Bank Park as the
Philadelphia Phranks embarrassed the Atlanta Prohibitioners by the lopsided
score of 12 to 2.
 
Philadelphia set the tone of the game in the first inning scoring a single
run.  Atlanta was out-hit by Philadelphia, 11 hits to 7.  
 
The victory was credited to Ubaldo Jimenez(3-1) who went 6 and 2/3 innings,
allowing 2 runs. Tim Hudson(3-1) was hit with the loss.  He was touched for 6
hits and 2 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings.

In a thriller the Minnesota SnowBirds staged a dramatic comeback then held on
to win over the Toronto Scrub AL 1 by a score of 5 to 3 at Rogers
Centre.
 
Cliff Lee(3-2) had a solid outing for Minnesota.  He went 5 and 1/3 innings
allowing 7 hits and 2 walks lowering his ERA from 4.68 to 4.26.  Minnesota
won despite being out-hit by Toronto 9 hits to 4.  
 
Lee got help from Mariano Rivera who was credited with his 5th save.  Bronson
Arroyo(1-3) was tagged with the loss.  'I was a little good, a little bad and
a little ugly.' said Lee, 'I was just giving us a chance to win.'

Designated hitter Milton Bradley hit a grand slam as the Sunshine State
Stalkers defeated the Wall St Millionaires in 10 innings 11 to 9 at Wrigley
Field.
 
The score was knotted at 6 after nine innings.  Finally, Sunshine State pulled
the game out in the 10th inning.  The key at-bat was by Bradley who
disappointed the partisan crowd when he launched a Grand Slam homerun (his
2nd of the season).  Sunshine State finished with 12 hits in the victory.
 
The win was credited to Mike Adams(1-1) who went 1 inning allowing 3 runs.
Adams was helped out by Kevin Gregg who recorded his 2nd save.  Matt
Capps(1-2) took the loss in relief.  He pitched 1 and 2/3 innings and
surrendered 1 hit and 2 walks.

Kyle Lohse(1-2), with relief help from Scott Downs, shut down the ice-cold
Colorado Scrub NL 2 hitters at Coors Field.  The Binghamton Brawlers came
away with a 6 to 0 victory.
 
Binghamton jumped out to the early lead in the first inning plating an
isolated run on 2 hits.  After an out was recorded, Alfredo Amezaga laced a
base-hit.  One out later, Derrek Lee came up and he doubled.  That early
scoring held up.  Binghamton ended up with 13 hits for the game while
Colorado had 5.  
 
Joe Blanton(1-2) was charged with the loss.  He pitched 7 and 2/3 innings
giving up 9 hits and 1 walk.

Second baseman Dustin Pedroia touched them all and had 3 RBI at Nationals Park
as the Detroit 40's beat the Washington Scrub NL 1 6 to 4.
 
Washington fell behind quickly as the Detroit offense came through in the
first inning when they scored 2 runs on 3 hits.  The highlight belonged to
Xavier Nady who silenced the crowd when he bombed a two-run dinger (his 6th
of the season).  Detroit out-hit Washington for the game, 12 hits to 7.
 
Aaron Cook(1-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 innings and allowing 4
runs. Jonathan Papelbon earned his 3rd save.  Edwin Jackson(1-1) was hit with
the loss.  He got hit pretty hard, allowing 9 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings.
 
With this win, Detroit has a 12-8 record.  They have been 6-4 lately.  With
the loss, Washington has a record of 3-7 lately, 8-11, worst in the division
overall.
