Billingsley(2-0) was virtually untouchable. He didn't give up much, just 5 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings lowering his ERA to 1.00. Philadelphia finished with 12 hits in the victory. Jesse Litsch(0-2) was charged with the loss. He pitched 6 and 1/3 innings and surrendered 10 hits and 1 walk. Everyone seemed to enjoy the performance of Billingsley - except Pinehurst. Dave Trembley lamented, 'He just was 'on' this afternoon. He was keeping our guys off balance all game. A fine game by a good strikeout pitcher - makes it a fun game for the hometown fans - unfortunately we were the visitors!'
