Right fielder Jason Kubel hit a homerun and had 3 RBI at Fenway Park as the
Boston Stranglers beat the Pinehurst PinOaks 14 to 8.
 
Boston took the lead for good in the bottom of the 4th inning as they scored 4
runs on 4 base hits.  The crucial at-bat was provided by Chris Davis who made
the home-town crowd a happy bunch when he doubled bringing in two
baserunners.  Boston provided plenty of action in the 1st inning with 5 runs
on 6 hits and the 4th inning with 4 runs on 4 hits.  Boston ended up with 20
hits for the game while Pinehurst had 10.  
 
Andrew Brown(1-1) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 1 and 1/3 innings.
Manny Delcarmen(0-1) was the losing pitcher in relief.  He was knocked
around, surrendering 4 runs in 3 innings.

Center fielder Willie Harris slammed 2 homeruns and Cha Seung Baek completed
the game without help from the bullpen as the Colorado Scrub NL 2 defeated
the Wall St Millionaires 6 to 2 at Coors Field.
 
Colorado wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning when they
tallied 4 runs on 3 hits.  That was all Baek(1-0) needed.  Colorado rapped
out 8 hits for the night.  
 
John Danks(0-1) took the loss.  He served up 3 gopher balls in 6 and 2/3
innings.

Center fielder Chris Young blasted 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Francisco
Rodriguez delivered 3 solid innings at Comerica Park where the Cherry Hill
Maulers beat the Detroit 40's in 12 innings by the score of 8 to 5.
 
The score was knotted at 5 after nine innings.  Cherry Hill was victorious in
the 12th inning.  Miguel Tejada opened up the inning nicely when he slapped a
one-base hit.  Two outs later Miguel Cabrera stepped in and he lashed a
single.  Carlos Guillen then lined a base-hit.  Guillen took second on the
throw.  Aramis Ramirez was up next and he drew a walk to load the bases.
Jonathan Papelbon then was wild with a pitch.  Raul Ibanez kept the inning
going and was walked intentionally to load the bases.  Young stepped into the
batter's box and he singled.  Detroit was set down quietly in the bottom of
the 12th.  
 
The victory went to Rodriguez(1-0) who went 3 innings, allowing no runs.
Damaso Marte(1-1) was charged with the loss in relief.  He pitched 2 innings
giving up 3 hits and 1 walk.

The Atlanta Prohibitioners defeated the Sunshine State Stalkers in 12 innings
by a score of 7 to 4 at Dolphins Stadium.
 
The score was tied at 4 after nine.  Atlanta came out on top in the 12th
inning.  Brian McCann kicked off the action when he lined a single.  After an
out was recorded, Andre Ethier came to the plate and drew a walk.  James
Loney then tripled.  Curtis Granderson stepped in and he laced a base-knock.
Casey Blake was next to the plate, but was promptly struck out.  Atlanta had
13 hits for the game and Sunshine State had 6.  
 
The winning pitcher was Brandon Morrow(2-1) who allowed 1 run in 5 innings.
Morrow got help from Brian Fuentes who was credited with his 5th save.  Mike
Adams(3-1) absorbed the loss in relief.

J.D. Drew smashed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Jered Weaver* held Oakland to 3
hits as the Minnesota SnowBirds ballclub embarrassed the Oakland Scrub AL 2
by the count of 13 to 2.
 
Drew enjoyed a fine evening at the plate.  He blasted a solo shot in the 2nd
inning and lifted one out of the park for a two run home run (his 2nd of the
season) in the 9th inning.  Minnesota totaled 12 hits on the night.
 
Weaver*(2-0), allowing 2 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Doug
Davis(0-1) was the loser.  Minnesota scored big getting 6 runs off him in 5
and 1/3 innings.  
 
'He was moving it around and spotting it very well.' Bob Geren said.  Weaver*
pitched a great game. He deserves all the credit.'

Chipper Jones launched 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI and Jake Peavy pitched a
complete game as the Sea Isle Seagulls defeated the Binghamton Brawlers 10 to
3 at PNC Park.
 
Jones enjoyed a big evening at the plate.  He lofted a three-run 'big-fly' in
the 7th inning and cleared the fences for a two-run home run (his 3rd of the
season) in the 8th inning.  Sea Isle banged out 14 hits on the night.
 
Peavy(1-0) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 3 runs. Chad
Qualls(0-2) suffered the loss in relief.  He pitched 1 and 1/3 innings
allowing 4 hits and no walks.

Taylor Teagarden went yard as the Toronto Scrub AL 1 topped the Yardley Oaks
in 10 innings by a score of 2 to 1 at Rogers Centre.
 
Both teams were tied at 1 runs apiece after nine innings.  Toronto came out
the victor in the 10th inning.  After an out was recorded, Kevin Millar
blasted a solo shot (his 5th of the season) giving Toronto the win much to
the delight of the home town crowd.  Although they lost, Yardley did out-hit
Toronto 8 to 5.  
 
Wil Ledezma(1-1) went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Ryan
Rowland-Smith(0-1) ended up with the loss in relief.  'Ahhh, that victory was
surely needed.  Man alive, things were getting awfully grim,' noted Cito
Gaston.  'Now, we need to string a bunch of wins together and turn things
around!'

Ryan Braun ripped 2 homeruns at Nationals Park as the Philadelphia Phranks
staged a comeback win over the Washington Scrub NL 1 by the count of 5 to
4.
 
Philadelphia scored the decisive runs in a big 9th inning scoring 3 runs on 3
hits.  Braun opened up the scoring as he blasted a solo shot (his 6th of the
season).  Vladimir Guerrero came to the plate and doubled.  Two outs later
Ryan Doumit came to the plate and blasted a two-run home run (his 1st of the
season).  For the game Philadelphia out-hit Washington 10 to 7.  
 
The win went to Salomon Torres(2-0) who allowed no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings.
Torres got help from Brad Lidge who earned his 4th save.  Francisco
Cordero(0-2) was given the loss in relief.  
 
'We just kept swinging the bats and didn't give up,' Braun said. 'If you just
keep trying good things can happen!'
