Aubrey Huff jacked one out of the ballyard and had 3 RBI and Armando Galarraga
went the distance as the Cherry Hill Maulers defeated the Oakland Scrub AL 2
by a score of 9 to 2 at McAfee Coliseum.
 
Cherry Hill took the lead for good in the 3rd inning as they scored 3 runs on
2 base hits.  That early run support was enough for Galarraga(2-1) and Cherry
Hill.  Cherry Hill banged out 10 hits on the night.  
 
Greg Smith(1-3) was given the loss.  He was knocked around by Cherry Hill,
allowing 8 hits and 4 walks in 5 innings.  With this win, Cherry Hill has a
12-8 record.  They have been 5-5 lately.  With the loss, Oakland has a record
of 6-4 lately, 8-17 overall.

In a game for the baseball purist, Joe Saunders(2-2) and Nick Blackburn(1-3)
squared off in a tense pitching duel, Boston Stranglers finally emerged
victorious over Washington Scrub NL 1, 1 to 0.
 
The winning run, and the only run, was scored by Boston in the 2nd inning.
Geovany Soto blasted a solo shot (his 3rd of the season).  That early scoring
held up.  Boston had 7 hits overall, while Washington had 4.  
 
Joakim Soria earned the save, his 6th.

Nate McLouth went deep and had 2 RBI as the Wall St Millionaires topped the
Philadelphia Phranks in 10 innings by a score of 3 to 2 at Wrigley
Field.
 
Both teams were tied at 2 runs apiece after nine innings.  Wall St won the
hard fought contest in the 10th inning.  After an out was recorded, Jimmy
Rollins drew a walk.  After another out, Matt Kemp came up and he drew a
walk.  Kemp took his lead and swiped second.  Albert Pujols was up next and
he doubled resulting in a mighty exciting win for Wall St and the 35,947 home
town fans in attendance.  The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until
the 7th inning.  
 
Juan Cruz(1-0) got the win allowing no runs in 1 inning. Brad Lidge(1-2)
suffered the loss in relief.  He surrendered 1 run and 1 hit in 2/3 of an
inning.

Dana Eveland(1-2) and Mark Buehrle(1-3) treated the Pinehurst fans to a fine
pitching duel at Camden Yards.  The Toronto Scrub AL 1 eventually emerged as
victors over the Pinehurst PinOaks by the score of 2 to 1.
 
Eveland had a solid outing for Toronto.  He was reached for 6 hits and 1 walk
in 5 and 2/3 innings lowering his ERA from 3.14 to 2.70.  Pinehurst
threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.  
 
Eveland got help from Jon Rauch who was credited with his 4th save.

The Sunshine State Stalkers had very little trouble at Dolphins Stadium
downing the Binghamton Brawlers.  The score was 6 to 1.
 
Sunshine State took the lead off Jorge Campillo in the first inning scoring a
single run on 2 hits.  Sunshine State had 8 hits for the night.  
 
Hiroki Kuroda(2-2) allowed 1 run in 6 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Carlos Marmol recorded the save, his 4th.  Campillo(1-2) was the
losing pitcher.  His ERA ballooned from 4.26 to 4.82 as he allowed 4 runs in
6 innings.  
 
With this win, Sunshine State has a 10-10 record.  They have been 4-6 lately.
Binghamton, which had been on a roll, saw their record drop to 10-10.

The ice-cold Colorado Scrub NL 2 endured an embarrassing pasting as a potent
Yardley Oaks lineup tallied 14 runs while Justin Duchscherer(1-0), with
relief help from Ryan Rowland-Smith, surrendered 2 runs to Colorado.
 
Yunel Escobar was a one-man wrecking crew.  He smashed a two-run homer (his
1st of the season) in the 3rd inning, doubled in the 5th inning and doubled
clearing all three ducks off the pond. in the 8th inning.  Yardley kept the
pressure on throughout the contest as they scored in 6 different innings.
 
Duchscherer got help from Rowland-Smith who earned his 1st save.  Cha Seung
Baek(0-3) was charged with the loss.  He was not very effective, surrendering
7 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings.  
 
'I had a big day, but there's a lot of credit to go around' Escobar said.  'We
played well together as a team.'

David Dejesus had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at Comerica Park where the Minnesota
SnowBirds beat the Detroit 40's 5 to 4.
 
Minnesota came up with 3 runs in the top of the 5th inning with the help of 4
hits.  The crucial at-bat was provided by Dejesus who quieted the home crowd
when he slapped a base-hit plating two runs.  Detroit had a chance in the 9th
but they came up short.  
 
Mariano Rivera(1-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 1 inning. Zack
Greinke(4-1) was the losing pitcher.  He got hit pretty hard, allowing 7 hits
and 2 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.  
 
Minnesota now has a record of a division leading 13-7.  Detroit has a record
of 13-10 after the loss.
