First baseman Nick Swisher cleared the bases with his grand slam as the
Colorado Scrub NL 2 defeated the Yardley Oaks by the score of 12 to 4 at
Coors Field.

Swisher was spectacular at the plate. He doubled in the 2nd inning, doubled
with all three runners coming home in the 3rd inning and caught a hold of a
fastball for a Grand Slam homerun (his 7th of the season) in the 6th inning.
Colorado and Yardley each finished the night with 10 hits.

Zach Duke(2-4) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 and 2/3 innings and
allowing 4 runs. Felix Hernandez(1-2) absorbed the loss. By giving up 6 runs
in 2 and 2/3 innings his ERA increased from 5.56 to 6.39.

For Colorado the victory was a welcome one, indeed. They had been struggling
in their last ten games with a disappointing 1-9 record. With the loss,
Yardley has a record of 6-4 lately, 12-9 overall.
