Third baseman Evan Longoria blasted 2 homeruns and Johan Santana racked up an
impressive total of 10 strikeouts at Turner Field as the Pinehurst PinOaks
beat the Atlanta Prohibitioners 8 to 2.

Santana(3-6) gave Pinehurst a solid outing. He allowed only 7 hits and 3
walks in 9 innings. Pinehurst had 16 hits for the night.

Ricky Nolasco(7-4) was charged with the loss. He allowed 11 hits and 3 walks

'Well, it's a little odd when you rack up these numbers on the road - instead
of cheers and a running tally in the stands, everything gets real still and
quiet. Just strange - but it's nice to be able to take the crowd out of the
game.'

In a good matchup it was the Cherry Hill Maulers 5, the Binghamton Brawlers 3
at Shea Stadium.

Cherry Hill wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning when they
tallied 2 runs on 1 hit. The crucial at-bat was provided by Aubrey Huff who
quieted the crowd when he bombed a two-run dinger (his 12th of the season).
Francisco Rodriguez was perfect in relief and got the save, his 16th.

The victory went to Armando Galarraga(7-2) who went 8 innings, allowing 3
runs. Ryan Dempster(4-3) took the loss. He gave up 8 hits and 1 walk in 6
and 1/3 innings.

The Cherry Hill ballclub's record now stands at a division leading 35-16.
Jerry Manuel was pretty down after the loss. 'We've really been sputtering
along lately, something like 2-8 in the last week or two. That won't get it
done.'
