In a close game the Sunshine State Stalkers got by the Cherry Hill Maulers by
the score of 8 to 6.
 
Sunshine State won the game with a rally in the 8th inning with 2 runs on 2
hits.  After an out was recorded, Elijah Dukes began the rally when he drew a
walk.  Dukes was safe on a stolen base.  Sunshine State continued their
aggressive style with another stolen base.  Ryan Ludwick was up next and he
doubled.  Kevin Youkilis stepped into the box and doubled.  One out later,
Ian Stewart was the next batter, but he struck out.  Sunshine State had 9
hits for the night.  
 
The win was credited to Carlos Marmol(2-1) who went 2 innings allowing no
runs. Chad Bradford(0-1) was the loser in relief.  He pitched 1 inning giving
up 1 hit and 1 walk.

on 5 base hits.  The key offensive moment was provided by Matt Kemp who
silenced Camden Yards as he lifted one out of the park for a two run home run

37,751 fans were treated to a fine game at PNC Park as only one run separated
the combatants at game's end.  The Detroit 40's won by the slimmest of
margins, 4 to 3.
 
Detroit took the lead off Ben Sheets in the first inning as they scored 3 runs
on 4 base hits.  Sea Isle made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable
to push the needed runs across.  
 
Aaron Cook(6-3) went 8 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Jonathan Papelbon
recorded his 13th save.  Sheets(3-4) ended up with the loss.  
 
When questioned about the loss, John Russell said, 'The fans got to see an
exciting game out there tonight.  Unfortunately, we couldn't get it done this
time.  Next time, though, we'll be the clubhouse with all the smiles.'

Cliff Lee allowed Ron Gardenhire to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
and designated hitter J.D. Drew slammed a homerun as the Minnesota SnowBirds
outscored the Philadelphia Phranks 6 to 1.
 
Lee(8-3) pitched a solid game. He went 9 innings allowing 9 hits and 1 walk
lowering his ERA to 4.09.  Minnesota rapped out 10 hits for the night.  
 
Tim Lincecum(8-2) took the loss.  With this win, Minnesota has a division
leading 36-20 record.  They have been 7-3 lately.  With the loss, the
Philadelphia ballclub's record is 30-27.

Shaun Marcum pitched a complete game and Geovany Soto had 3 base hits as the
Boston Stranglers defeated the woeful Colorado Scrub NL 2 by a score of 6 to
1 at Fenway Park.
 
Boston took the lead for keeps in the bottom of the 5th inning scoring 2
runners on 3 hits.  The highlight belonged to Bobby Abreu who made the Boston
fans a happy lot when he laced a single plating two runs.  Boston banged out
11 hits on the night.  
 
The win was credited to Marcum(5-7) who went the whole way allowing 1 run. Tim
Wakefield(1-6) absorbed the loss.  He was knocked around by Boston, allowing
8 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings.

The Binghamton Brawlers defeated the Washington Scrub NL 1 in 11 innings by a
score of 9 to 6 at Nationals Park.
 
The score was knotted at 6 after nine innings.  Binghamton was victorious in
the 11th inning.  After an out was recorded, Jayson Werth got things rolling
when he delivered a single.  One out later, Jose Reyes stepped up to the
plate and he drew a walk.  Alfredo Amezaga then drew a walk to load the
bases.  Garrett Atkins followed and he drew a walk.  Carlos Lee came to the
plate and slapped a base-hit.  Derrek Lee did his part to keep things going
and stroked a single to load the bases.  Randy Winn followed, but he was set
down on strikes.  Binghamton ended up with 17 hits for the game while
Washington had 12.  
 
The win went to Joe Nelson(1-2) who allowed no runs in 2 innings. Dennis
Sarfate(3-1) suffered the loss in relief.  He gave up 2 runs and 1 hit in 2
and 1/3 innings.
