Washington won the game with a rally in the bottom of the 9th inning with 2 runs. Jeff Mathis opened up the inning nicely when he was hit by a pitch. After an out was recorded, Corey Hart stepped in and he lifted one out of the park for a two run home run (his 6th of the season) resulting in an exciting win for Washington and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. Washington had only 5 hits for the game. The victory was credited to Seth McClung(2-3) who went 3 innings, allowing no runs. Scott Downs(3-3) was the losing pitcher in relief.
