Moyer(5-6) was virtually untouchable. He didn't give up much, just 3 hits and no walks in 9 innings improving his ERA from 3.98 to 3.59. Philadelphia banged out 11 hits on the afternoon. Detroit started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of the first when they tallied 2 runs on 2 hits. The early run support proved sufficient for Haren(7-5) and Detroit. That was all the run support Haren required. Detroit managed 7 hits in their victory. Jonathan Papelbon earned his 15th save. Jon Garland(1-7) suffered the loss. He surrendered 5 hits and 1 walk in 5 and 1/3 innings.
