Adrian Gonzalez had 4 hits and 3 RBI at Camden Yards as the Boston Stranglers
beat the Pinehurst PinOaks by the count of 11 to 3.
 
Gonzalez provided much of the offense.  He delivered a base-hit in the 1st
inning, blasted a two-run home run (his 21st of the season) in the 2nd
inning, stroked a single in the 6th inning and doubled plating a run in the
7th inning.  Boston finished with 18 hits while Pinehurst ended up with 9.
 
The winning pitcher was Shaun Marcum(6-7) who allowed 3 runs in 8 and 1/3
innings. Mark Buehrle(2-8) absorbed the loss.  The Boston ballclub's record
now stands at 34-31.  Pinehurst has a record of 24-36 after the loss.

It was a laugher out at Yankee Stadium.  The Yardley Oaks squad ripped Cherry
Hill pitching for a total of 11 runs.  Justin Duchscherer(5-2), with relief
help from Ryan Rowland-Smith, surrendered 2 runs to Cherry Hill.
 
Duchscherer pitched well enough to earn the win.  He went 5 and 2/3 innings
surrendering 5 hits and 2 walks.  Cherry Hill was out-hit by Yardley, 11 hits
to 8.  
 
Rowland-Smith recorded the save, his 3rd.  Roy Halladay(9-3) took the loss.
He was not very effective, surrendering 7 runs in 2 innings.

Encarnacion slapped a one-base hit.  One out later, Willie Harris stepped up
to the plate and he doubled making Colorado the victors to the delight of the
home town faithful.  Colorado ended up with 13 hits for the game while Wall
St had 5.  
 
Josh Rupe(1-1) allowed no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Matt Capps(1-3) was the losing pitcher in relief.  He gave up 2 runs
and 5 hits in 1 and 2/3 innings.

Jamie Moyer pitched a 3 hit shutout and Ty Wigginton had 2 base hits at
Citizen's Bank Park where the Philadelphia Phranks beat the Sunshine State
Stalkers 6 to 0.
 
Moyer(5-6) was virtually untouchable.  He didn't give up much, just 3 hits and
no walks in 9 innings improving his ERA from 3.98 to 3.59.  Philadelphia
banged out 11 hits on the afternoon.  
 
Jeff Bennett(3-5) was given the loss.  He was knocked around by Philadelphia,
allowing 9 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.  'Moyer just dominated us'
losing pitcher Bennett said.  'Hopefully we can get to him the next time
around'

Chase Utley hit 2 doubles at Nationals Park where the Sea Isle Seagulls beat
the Washington Scrub NL 1 by the score of 6 to 2.
 
John Lannan(6-5) had a solid outing for Sea Isle.  He allowed 6 hits and 2
walks in 7 and 2/3 innings and surrendered 2 'long-bombs' lowering his ERA
from 5.17 to 4.86.  Overall Sea Isle out-hit Washington 14 to 7.  
 
The loss was charged to Tim Redding(2-6).  He allowed a few too many
baserunners giving up 10 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings.

Hanley Ramirez had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at Turner Field where the Atlanta
Prohibitioners beat the Binghamton Brawlers 7 to 5.
 
Latroy Hawkins(1-0) was the winning pitcher in relief.  He went 2/3 of an
inning allowing 1 hit and no walks.  Binghamton made it exciting in the 9th,
but they were unable to push the needed runs across.  
 
Hawkins was helped out by Brian Fuentes who recorded his 18th save.  Ryan
Madson(2-5) was the loser in relief.  He pitched 3 and 2/3 innings allowing 4
hits and 1 walk.
 
'We lose our concentration for one pitch, and we lose the game.' Jerry Manuel
said after the game.  'Maybe now these guys will listen when I say they have
to concentrate on EVERY pitch.'

Jason Bay slammed a homerun and Dan Haren came through with a solid 8 innings
as the Detroit 40's beat the Toronto Scrub AL 1 by a score of 3 to
0.
 
Detroit started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of the
first when they tallied 2 runs on 2 hits.  The early run support proved
sufficient for Haren(7-5) and Detroit.  That was all the run support Haren
required.  Detroit managed 7 hits in their victory.  
 
Jonathan Papelbon earned his 15th save.  Jon Garland(1-7) suffered the loss.
He surrendered 5 hits and 1 walk in 5 and 1/3 innings.
