He doubled plating two runs in the 3rd inning, hit a single scoring a run in the 4th inning and smashed a solo-shot out of the park (his 13th of the season) in the 6th inning. Yardley came through with the game-winning runs in the bottom of the 9th inning scoring 3 runs using 2 hits. After an out was recorded, Mike Napoli keyed the rally when he drew a walk. Denard Span came next and he slapped a single. Joe Inglett struck out, unable to help the rally. Alex Rodriguez stepped in and he lofted a three-run 'big-fly' (his 13th of the season) giving Yardley the win much to the delight of the home town crowd. Yardley rapped out 8 hits for the night. Lilly(6-5) lasted until the end allowing 5 runs for the win. Jonathan Papelbon(1-2) was given the loss in relief. He surrendered 3 runs and 2 hits in 2/3 of an inning. 'We just wouldn't give up,' Grudzielanek said. 'Much of the credit goes to our fans - they were with us the whole way.'
