Two outs later Curtis Granderson dug into the batters box next, but he struck out. Minnesota was retired without difficulty in the bottom of the 9th. Brandon Morrow(5-4) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the victory. Brian Fuentes recorded the save, his 19th. The losing pitcher was Craig Breslow(0-1) in relief. He was unable to retire a batter and surrendered 2 hits and no walks. With this win, Atlanta has a division leading 41-29 record. They have been 5-5 lately. With the loss, the Minnesota ballclub's record is 42-24.
