Milton Bradley went yard and had 2 RBI at Dolphins Stadium as the Sunshine
State Stalkers belted the Oakland Scrub AL 2 by the count of 17 to 5.
 
David Bush(7-5) looked shaky but got the win.  He gave up 5 runs, 12 hits and
1 walk in 6 and 1/3 innings and surrendered 2 'long-bombs'.  Sunshine State
provided plenty of action in the 3rd inning plating 5 runs and the 8th inning
which saw them plate 7 runs on 4 hits.  Sunshine State kept the pressure on
throughout the contest as they scored in 6 different innings.  
 
Greg Smith(5-7) was the losing pitcher.  He allowed Sunshine State 7 runs in 2
and 2/3 innings of work.

Roy Oswalt had a strong outing at US Cellular Field as the Boston Stranglers
lost a heartbreaker to Cherry Hill Maulers by the score of 8 to 4.
 
Cherry Hill came through with the game-winning runs in the bottom of the 9th
inning when they scored 4 runs on 1 hit.  The crucial at-bat was provided by
Chris Young who came through for the home fans when he brought the hometown
folks to their feet with a Grand Slammer (his 7th of the season).  For the
game Cherry Hill out-hit Boston 12 to 4.  
 
The victory was credited to Grant Balfour(3-1) who went 2 innings, allowing 2
runs. Ervin Santana(7-6) was the loser.  He served up 3 homeruns in his 8
innings.

Wall St took the lead for good in the 6th inning as they scored 2 runs on 2
base hits.  The critical plate appearance was by Matt Kemp who silenced
Turner Field as he bombed a two-run dinger (his 12th of the season).  Todd
Wellemeyer(7-3) was helped out by J.C. Romero who pitched a perfect ninth and
recorded his 4th save.  
 
Tim Hudson(9-4) was given the loss.  He allowed 5 hits and 5 walks in 7 and
1/3 innings.

45,924 fans watched an exciting game at Camden Yards.  The Detroit 40's topped
the Pinehurst PinOaks by the slimmest of margins, 5 to 4.
 
Dan Haren(9-5) had a solid outing for Detroit.  He was reached for 9 hits and
2 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.  Haren recorded 8 strikeouts.  Pinehurst had a
chance in the 9th but they came up short.  
 
Jonathan Papelbon recorded his 20th save.  Mike Mussina(7-5) absorbed the
loss.  He was knocked around by Detroit, allowing 9 hits and 2 walks in 6
innings.  
 
'I didn't have my best stuff but sometimes you just get lucky,' Haren said,
'this was one of those times.'

Joey Devine(8-0) got the win with a nice relief outing.  He surrendered only 1
hit and 1 walk in 2 innings.  Minnesota totaled 8 hits on the night.
 
Devine got help from Mariano Rivera who was credited with his 17th save. Josh
Rupe(1-2) was hit with the loss in relief.  He surrendered 2 runs and 3 hits
in 1 inning.

Second baseman Chase Utley had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at Citizen's Bank Park as
the blistering-hot Sea Isle Seagulls beat the Philadelphia Phranks by the
count of 8 to 5.
 
In the 3rd inning Sea Isle scored 3 runs with the help of 4 hits.  They would
prove to be the difference in the contest.  Philadelphia was set down quietly
in the bottom of the 9th.  
 
The win went to Paul Maholm(11-1) who allowed 5 runs in 5 and 2/3 innings.
Maholm was helped out by Kerry Wood who recorded his 24th save.  Jamie
Moyer(5-7) was the losing pitcher.  
 
No one has been able to stop Sea Isle lately as they lengthened their winning
streak to 7 games.

Ryan Dempster(5-4), with relief help from Jorge Campillo, handcuffed the
Washington Scrub NL 1 batters at Shea Stadium in an evening game.  The
Binghamton Brawlers scored 5 runs for the win.
 
Washington fell behind quickly as the Binghamton offense came through in the
first inning scoring 2 runners on 2 hits.  That was all Dempster needed.
Binghamton had 8 hits overall, while Washington had 4.  
 
Randy Wolf(4-9) was given the loss.  He pitched 5 and 2/3 innings and
surrendered 7 hits and 2 walks.

Yardley Oaks beat the Toronto Scrub AL 1 7 to 2.
 
Justin Duchscherer(7-2) earned his pay with a solid performance for Yardley.
He allowed 4 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings.  Yardley out-hit Toronto for the
game, 13 hits to 4.  
 
Dana Eveland(2-6) took the loss.  He was unable to control the Yardley offense
and allowed 8 hits and 4 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.
