After an out was recorded, Ryan Ludwick came to the plate and drew a walk to load the bases. Kevin Youkilis followed, but he was set down on strikes. Adam Dunn stepped into the box and drew a walk. Overall Sunshine State out-hit Oakland 8 to 3. The victory was credited to Jeff Bennett(4-5) who went 7 and 2/3 innings, allowing 1 run. Carlos Marmol was credited with his 7th save. Right fielder Josh Hamilton slammed a homerun and had 2 RBI as the seemingly unstoppable Sea Isle Seagulls defeated the Philadelphia Phranks 3 to 2 at Citizen's Bank Park. Sea Isle scored 2 runs in the 2nd inning when they had 3 base hits. Chipper Jones got things going when he doubled. Hamilton stepped up to the plate and he lifted one out of the park for a two run home run (his 11th of the season). J.J. Hardy dug into the batters box next, but he struck out. Adam Laroche was up next and he banged out a single. Mike Cameron got his turn next, but he was a strikeout victim. Philadelphia had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short. Cole Hamels(4-4) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 6 innings. Kerry Wood gained credit for his 25th save. Jair Jurrjens(4-5) suffered the loss. He gave up 10 hits and 1 walk in 7 innings. 'We lose our concentration for one pitch, and we lose the game.' Charlie Manual said after the game. 'Maybe now these guys will listen when I say they have to concentrate on EVERY pitch.' The loss was charged to Joba Chamberlain(5-3) in relief. He struck out 4 batters in 1 and 1/3 innings despite losing the game. 'Everything felt great' Arroyo said.
