Left fielder Garret Anderson had 3 base hits and 2 RBI as the Boston
Stranglers defeated the Yardley Oaks in 10 innings 5 to 4 at Fenway
Park.
 
Both teams were tied at 4 runs apiece after nine innings.  Finally, Boston
pulled the game out in the 10th inning.  After two outs Ian Kinsler drew a
walk.  Joba Chamberlain then let a pitch get away from him.  Adrian Gonzalez
then was walked intentionally.  Geovany Soto followed and he stroked a single
giving Boston the victory as 36,532 happy fans celebrated wildly.  Boston had
13 hits for the afternoon while Yardley had 9.  
 
The winning pitcher was Justin Masterson(6-1) who allowed 1 run in 4 innings.
Chamberlain(5-6) suffered the loss in relief.  He pitched 2 and 2/3 innings
giving up 3 hits and 3 walks.

Matt Cain had a strong outing at McAfee Coliseum where the Wall St
Millionaires beat the floundering Oakland Scrub AL 2 by the score of 4 to
2.
 
Wall St had 3 runs cross the plate in the top of the 4th inning with the help
of 4 hits.  The crucial at-bat was provided by Nate McLouth who deflated the
crowd as he blasted a two-run home run (his 20th of the season).  Wall St
totaled 8 hits on the afternoon.  
 
The win was credited to Cain(7-7) who went the whole way allowing 2 runs. Greg
Maddux(4-7) was tagged with the loss.  He pitched 9 innings allowing 8 hits
and 2 walks.

First baseman Derrek Lee cracked a homer and had 5 RBI at Shea Stadium as the
Binghamton Brawlers beat the dreadful Toronto Scrub AL 1 11 to 3.
 
Lee punished Toronto with his bat.  He lofted a three-run bomb (his 12th of
the season) in the 1st inning, laced a single in the 7th inning and tripled
scoring two baserunners in the 8th inning.  Binghamton had 17 hits for the
afternoon while Toronto had 11.  
 
The win was credited to Jorge Campillo(7-10) who went 7 and 2/3 innings
allowing 3 runs. Campillo got help from Edwar Ramirez who earned his 2nd
save.  The loss was charged to Andy Pettitte(4-8).  
 
Lee was in a good mood after the game, 'I'm just seeing and hitting the ball
real well now.  I made some adjustments last week and they are paying off.
That's what this game is about. making adjustments as the season goes along.'

Ty Wigginton blasted 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI at Citizen's Bank Park as the
Philadelphia Phranks beat the Washington Scrub NL 1 by the count of 9 to
2.
 
The Philadelphia fans enjoyed the offense provided by Wigginton.  He bombed a
two-run dinger in the 4th inning and lifted one out of the park for a two run
home run (his 14th of the season) in the 7th inning.  For the game
Philadelphia out-hit Washington 12 to 9.  
 
The win went to Jair Jurrjens(6-6) who allowed 2 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings.
Hong-Chih Kuo recorded his 1st save.  Braden Looper(6-8) was the losing
pitcher.  He was touched for 4 homeruns in his 8 innings of work.

the Pinehurst PinOaks 2 to 1 at Metrodome.
 
Jose Arredondo(3-0) came on to close the door tight in relief.  He allowed
only 1 hit and no walks in 2 innings.  Minnesota rapped out 8 hits for the
afternoon.  
 
Mariano Rivera got the save, his 22nd.  Mark Buehrle(4-10) absorbed the loss.
He pitched 7 and 1/3 innings giving up 8 hits and no walks.

Catcher Miguel Olivo jacked one out of the ballyard and had 2 RBI at US
Cellular Field as the impressive Cherry Hill Maulers won a thriller over the
lifeless Colorado Scrub NL 2 in, 7 to 6.
 
The game was won by Cherry Hill with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning.
Howie Kendrick lined a base-hit.  Magglio Ordonez next to the plate and he
stroked a one-base hit.  Miguel Cabrera then delivered a single giving Cherry
Hill the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy.  Cherry Hill had
12 hits for the game and Colorado had 8.  
 
Francisco Rodriguez(4-3) went 1 inning allowing 1 run for the win. Jamey
Wright(6-4) was the loser in relief.  The Cherry Hill ballclub's record now
stands at a division leading 61-30.  With the loss, Colorado has a record of
3-7 lately, 27-69, worst in the division overall.

In a close game the Sunshine State Stalkers got by the Sea Isle Seagulls by
the score of 3 to 1.
 
Sunshine State came up with the deciding runs in the 8th inning scoring 2 runs
using 2 hits.  Asdrubal Cabrera led off the inning for Sunshine State when he
lined a single.  Two outs later Milton Bradley stepped in and he cleared the
fences for a two-run home run (his 16th of the season).  Despite losing, Sea
Isle out-hit Sunshine State 9 to 3.  
 
The winning pitcher was Steven Shell(2-1) who allowed no runs in 2 and 2/3
innings. Cole Hamels(5-6) was charged with the loss.  He surrendered only 3
runs and 3 hits in 8 innings.
