In a good matchup it was the Yardley Oaks 6, the Washington Scrub NL 1 4 at
Yankee Stadium.

Yardley brought 4 runs across the plate in the 2nd inning when they had 5 base
hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Denard Span who made the crowd
happy when he doubled which was good for two runs. Overall Yardley out-hit
Washington 12 to 6.

Gavin Floyd(12-4) allowed 4 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Floyd got help from Joe Nathan who was credited with his 25th save.
Braden Looper(6-9) was the losing pitcher. He was unable to control the
Yardley offense and allowed 12 hits and 2 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.

'I always am most impressed when a pitcher finds a way to win even without his
best stuff,' Joe Girardi said after the game. 'Floyd did not have command of
his pitches most of the afternoon, but he proved he really knew how to
pitch!'
