Howie Kendrick had 2 base hits and C.C. Sabathia struck out 10 batters as the
impressive Cherry Hill Maulers defeated the lifeless Toronto Scrub AL 1 by a
score of 2 to 1 at US Cellular Field.

Sabathia(14-5) was very good in the win. He didn't give up much, just 5 hits
and 2 walks in 8 innings. Cherry Hill had just 6 hits for the night.

Francisco Rodriguez earned his 33rd save. Andy Pettitte(4-10) was given the
loss. Cito Gaston was upset after the game. 'I don't like to complain but
did you see that umpires strike zone?', he said. 'Maybe they ought to start
calling the strike zone the way it's printed in the rule book.'

In a lop-sided win the Boston Stranglers ripped the reeling Oakland Scrub AL 2
by a 7 to 1 count.

Boston took the lead for good in the bottom of the 5th inning as they scored 2
runs on 2 base hits. The big moment was provided by Ian Kinsler who brought
a roar from the partisan Fenway Park fans when he cracked a two-run shot (his
11th of the season). Boston banged out 9 hits on the night.

The win went to Justin Masterson(7-1) who allowed no runs in 4 and 2/3
innings. Greg Smith(6-12) ended up with the loss. He allowed 5 runs and 6
hits in 5 innings.

The Philadelphia Phranks had an easy time of it at Wrigley Field defeating the
Wall St Millionaires by a score of 11 to 6.

The Wall St fans didn't appreciate the big day Joey Votto had. He laced a
one-base hit knocking in a run in the 4th inning and lost the ball over the
fence for three runs (his 14th of the season) in the 5th inning. Both teams
finished the game with 8 hits.

Ubaldo Jimenez(13-6) was the winner allowing 6 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings.
Brian Shouse(1-3) suffered the loss in relief. He was a hard-luck loser as
he did not allow an earned run in his 1 inning of work.

Josh Rupe had a strong outing and third baseman Edwin Encarnacion had 2 base
hits at Dolphins Stadium as the Colorado Scrub NL 2 beat the Sunshine State
Stalkers in 13 innings 6 to 4.

The game was deadlocked at 4 after nine full innings. Colorado was victorious
in the 13th inning. After an out was recorded, Willie Harris keyed the rally
when he laced a base-hit. Nick Swisher next to the plate and he popped a
two-run clout over the fence (his 26th of the season). Justin Upton was the
next batter, but he struck out. John Buck got his chance to keep things
going, but he went down on strikes. Colorado took care of Sunshine State
with no trouble in the bottom of the 13th.

Rupe(4-2) went 5 innings allowing no runs for the win. Carlos Marmol(4-5) was
the losing pitcher in relief. Despite the loss, he struckout 8 Colorado
batters in 3 and 1/3 innings.

Colorado now has a record of 29-74. Even with the loss, Sunshine State still
has a nice 8-2 record in recent weeks. They are 57-44 on the season.

Dustin Pedroia had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the Detroit 40's won at Comerica Park
in dramatic fashion over the Pinehurst PinOaks, the final score, 6 to
4.

Detroit came through with the game-winning runs in the 9th inning with 2 runs
on 2 hits. After an out was recorded, Michael Young was the sparkplug when
he laced a base-knock. Pedroia stepped up next and he bombed a two-run
dinger (his 14th of the season) giving Detroit the win much to the delight of
the home town crowd. Detroit rapped out 12 hits for the night.

The winning pitcher was Damaso Marte(5-2) who allowed no runs in 1 and 1/3
innings. Manny Delcarmen(4-5) was given the loss in relief. Detroit now has
