Left fielder Delmon Young hit one over the fence and had 5 RBI and Ervin
Santana pitched a complete game at Fenway Park as the Boston Stranglers,
running on all cylinders, ripped the floundering Oakland Scrub AL 2 by a
large 13 to 3 margin.

Young enjoyed a big evening at the plate. He slapped a base-hit in the 2nd
inning, lofted a three-run bomb (his 4th of the season) in the 3rd inning and
hit a single bringing in two baserunners in the 6th inning. Boston finished
with 15 hits in the victory.

The victory was credited to Santana(11-6) who went the distance, allowing 3
runs. Doug Davis(4-9) was the losing pitcher. He allowed a few too many
baserunners giving up 10 hits and 4 walks in 4 innings.

The Boston ballclub's record now stands at 59-47. Not able to get much going
in recent weeks, Oakland is 1-9 of late and now has an overall record of
27-75, worst in the division.

David Bush carried a no-hitter into the 8th inning as the Sunshine State
Stalkers outscored the hapless Colorado Scrub NL 2 7 to 2.

Bush(12-6) was simply too much for the Colorado batters. He allowed just 2
hits and 1 walk in 9 innings improving his ERA from 4.55 to 4.34. The
right-handed Bush lost his no-hit bid when Justin Upton homered with nobody
out in the 8th inning. Sunshine State managed 7 hits in their victory.

Joe Blanton(6-11) took the loss. He pitched 1 and 2/3 innings and surrendered
3 hits and 2 walks.
