Miguel Tejada collected 4 RBI with one swing of the bat as the Cherry Hill
Maulers topped the Boston Stranglers by a score of 8 to 3 at Fenway
Park.
 
Cherry Hill came up with 4 runs in the top of the 7th inning.  The highlight
belonged to Tejada who quieted the home crowd when he launched a rocket-shot
out of the park for a Grand Slam homerun (his 6th of the season).  Cherry
Hill had a total of 10 hits for the game.  
 
Chad Bradford(1-1) got the win allowing no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings. Shaun
Marcum(9-8) was the loser.  He allowed 7 hits and 1 walk in 6 innings.

Brian Roberts had 2 base hits and 2 RBI and Adam Wainwright went the distance
as the Pinehurst PinOaks beat the floundering Oakland Scrub AL 2 by a score
of 7 to 3.
 
Pinehurst had the game winning rally in the 8th inning when they tallied 5
runs on 4 hits.  The crucial at-bat was provided by Roberts who came through
for the home fans when he stroked a one-base hit plating two runs.  Pinehurst
rapped out 10 hits for the afternoon.  
 
Wainwright(4-5) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 3 runs. The
losing pitcher was George Sherrill(2-6) in relief.

Derrek Lee cracked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at Rogers Centre as the Binghamton
Brawlers beat the reeling Toronto Scrub AL 1 by the count of 7 to 2.
 
Lee provided much of the offense.  He blasted a two-run home run in the 5th
inning and delivered a solo blast (his 9th of the season) in the 9th inning.
For the game Binghamton out-hit Toronto 17 to 7.  
 
Mike Pelfrey(4-7) went 8 and 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the victory. The
loss was charged to Andy Pettitte(4-6).  He got hit pretty hard, allowing 17
hits and 4 walks in 9 innings.

runner utilizing 2 base hits.  Detroit was out-hit by Washington, 13 hits to
4.  
 
Randy Wolf(5-9) went 6 innings allowing no runs for the win. Dennis Sarfate
earned his 4th save.  Aaron Cook(6-7) was tagged with the loss.  He pitched 7

Randy Johnson reeled off a total of 10 strikeouts at Turner Field as the
Atlanta Prohibitioners beat the Philadelphia Phranks 4 to 2.
 
Johnson(7-5) pitched a fine game.  He allowed 6 hits and 2 walks in 7 and 1/3
innings and served up 2 'big flies'.  Both teams totaled 6 hits on the night.
 
Johnson got help from Brian Fuentes who earned his 23rd save.  The losing
pitcher was Tim Lincecum(10-3).  When asked about his strikeout total for the
game, Johnson offered, 'The fan's really got into it.  It is fun to see them
tally up the strikeout totals up there in the stands.  Fortunately, I kept
them busy tonight - of course, it would be all for naught without the 'W'.'

Bobby Jenks went 3 strong innings as the Minnesota SnowBirds defeated the
Yardley Oaks 8 to 7 at Yankee Stadium.
 
Minnesota brought 6 runs across the plate in the 7th inning.  Minnesota won
despite being out-hit by Yardley 10 hits to 7.  
 
The winning pitcher was Jenks(2-0) who allowed no runs in 3 innings. Jenks got
help from Mariano Rivera who was credited with his 19th save.  Hideki
Okajima(0-1) took the loss in relief.  He was unable to retire a batter
allowing no hits and 3 walks.

Colorado Scrub NL 2 won a dramatic crowd-pleaser over Sunshine State Stalkers
at Coors Field pulling it out in their last at bats, 4 to 3.
 
Colorado scored the deciding run in the 9th inning.  After an out was
recorded, Nick Swisher blasted a solo shot (his 20th of the season) making
Colorado the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration.  Colorado
and Sunshine State each finished the night with 8 hits.  
 
Jamey Wright(4-3) went 1/3 of an inning allowing no runs for the victory.
Scott Baker(7-8) was charged with the loss.  He was touched for 3 homeruns in
his 8 and 1/3 innings of work.
