Binghamton came up with the deciding runs in the top of the 9th inning when they tallied 4 runs on 2 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Derrek Lee who silenced US Cellular Field as he cleared the fences for a two-run home run (his 11th of the season). Binghamton had only 3 hits for the game. The victory went to John Lannan(10-6) who went 8 innings, allowing 3 runs. Lannan got help from Chad Qualls who was credited with his 13th save. Francisco Rodriguez(3-3) was given the loss in relief. 'We just kept swinging the bats and didn't give up,' Ryan Madson said. 'If you just keep trying good things can happen!' Charlie Manual was in a contemplative mood after the tough loss, 'It is really hard to lose this kind of a game. It may seem weird to some, but it is easier to take the occasional blow-out loss. It is the ones that just barely get away that hurt so much - like this one!'
