The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance provided by Ramirez. He blasted a two-run home run in the 1st inning, laced a single plating a run in the 3rd inning and blasted a solo shot (his 28th of the season) in the 7th inning. Cherry Hill had a total of 9 hits for the game. It was the 2nd shutout of the year for Galarraga(10-4). The right-handed Galarraga lost his chance for a no-hitter when Yadier Molina singled with nobody out in the 6th inning. The losing pitcher was Jorge Campillo(6-10). He served up 3 homeruns in his 7 and 2/3 innings. Ramirez said, 'It was just all timing. I had pretty good rhythm at the plate tonight. You've got to take advantage of mistakes when you can. A couple pitches were definitely up a little bit - right in my zone.' The score was knotted at 7 after nine innings. Colorado won it in the 10th inning. The key at-bat was by Marco Scutaro who deflated the crowd as he ripped a base-knock which was good for two runs. Colorado banged out 16 hits on the night. Jamey Wright(6-3) went 1 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the victory. Manny Parra(0-7) took the loss in relief. Colorado now has a record of 26-66. Not able to get much going in recent weeks, Toronto is 0-10 of late and now has an overall record of 27-62, worst in the division. Dennis Sarfate got the save, his 5th. Greg Smith(5-11) ended up with the loss. Wolf was humble when questioned about his performance, 'Well, I felt pretty confident in my pitches tonight. But, I had great support behind me and I just threw what was called. That was an extremely well called game!'
