Shortstop Jose Reyes collected 2 extra-base hits and John Maine whiffed 11
batters at Shea Stadium where the Binghamton Brawlers beat the pathetic
Washington Scrub NL 1 4 to 2.

Maine(5-5) was in control of the game from the outset. He was stingy on the
mound, allowing just 5 hits and no walks in 8 innings and surrendered 2
'long-bombs'. Chad Qualls relieved and was untouched by Washington as he
recorded the save, his 14th.

Randy Wolf(7-12) was given the loss. Manny Acta was upset after the game. 'I
don't like to complain but did you see that umpires strike zone?', he said.
'Maybe they ought to start calling the strike zone the way it's printed in
the rule book.'
