Shaun Marcum delivered 8 and one third solid innings as the Boston Stranglers
defeated the Yardley Oaks 5 to 3 at Fenway Park.
 
Boston set the tone of the game in the first inning scoring one runner.
Overall Boston out-hit Yardley 7 to 4.  
 
The victory was credited to Marcum(13-10) who went 8 and 1/3 innings, allowing
3 runs. Marcum got relief help from Joakim Soria who gained credit for his
22nd save.  Gavin Floyd(13-5) was the loser.  He allowed Boston 4 runs in 3
and 2/3 innings of work.  
 
No one has been able to stop Boston lately as they lengthened their winning
streak to 6 games.

Third baseman Ian Stewart cracked a homer as the Sunshine State Stalkers
defeated the league door-mat Washington Scrub NL 1 by a score of 5 to 3 at
Dolphins Stadium.
 
Carlos Zambrano(12-5) gave Sunshine State a solid outing. He was reached for 6
hits and 2 walks in 8 and 1/3 innings improving his ERA from 5.04 to 4.84.
Sunshine State ended up with 10 hits for the game while Washington had 6.
 
Kevin Gregg recorded the save, his 15th.  Aquilino Lopez(0-1) ended up with
the loss in relief.  He gave up 3 hits and no walks in 1 and 2/3 innings.

Bronson Arroyo mowed down 11 Cherry Hill batters at Rogers Centre as the
Toronto Scrub AL 1 beat the Cherry Hill Maulers in 10 innings by the count of
1 to 0.
 
The score was a scoreless tie after nine.  Toronto won the hard fought contest
in the 10th inning.  After two were out Geoff Blum delivered a solo blast
(his 23rd of the season) giving Toronto the win and sending the home town
fans into a frenzy.  Toronto had a total of 11 hits for the game.
 
Arroyo(5-16) was credited with the shutout. Francisco Rodriguez(5-5) was
charged with the loss in relief.  Arroyo was jubilant in the hometown
clubhouse, 'It was a lot of fun out there.  The fans gave me a lot of support
as did my teammates.  We got the victory and I'll sure take 11 strikeouts
anytime!'

of 5 to 2 at Wrigley Field.
 
James Shields(15-4) pitched well for Wall St in their victory.  He went 7
innings surrendering 5 hits and 3 walks.  Wall St had only 6 hits for the
afternoon.  
 
Matt Capps gained credit for his 16th save.  The loss was charged to Kyle
Lohse(4-15).  He gave up 5 runs and 6 hits in 7 and 2/3 innings.

Mark Buehrle racked up an impressive total of 10 strikeouts and Lyle Overbay
hit 2 doubles and had 2 RBI as the Pinehurst PinOaks defeated the Detroit
40's 4 to 2 at Camden Yards.
 
Buehrle(6-12) pitched a fine game.  He allowed 8 hits and no walks in 6 and
1/3 innings.  Pinehurst rapped out 8 hits for the afternoon.  Roy Corcoran
recorded the save, his 8th.  A.J. Burnett(12-9) was charged with the loss.
Despite losing, he struckout 12 Pinehurst batters in 8 innings.  
 
Buehrle was pleased with his performance.  He noted, 'I had good zip on my
pitches.  Just as important, my location was right on.  The fans really got
into the game too - that always helps me.  Now, if I can only do that again
in my next outing.'

Joey Votto added four ribbies to his seasonal total with one swing of the bat
as the Philadelphia Phranks beat the Atlanta Prohibitioners by a score of 11
to 4.
 
Votto led the offense for Philadelphia.  He lashed a single in the 4th inning,
doubled in the 6th inning and launched a rocket-shot out of the park for a
Grand Slam homerun (his 16th of the season) in the 9th inning.  Philadelphia
finished with 11 hits in the victory.  
 
Chad Billingsley(12-6) allowed 3 runs in 6 innings, and picked up the victory.
Hong-Chih Kuo got the save, his 4th.  Chris Volstad(4-2) took the loss.  He
pitched 5 innings allowing 6 hits and 1 walk.

Jake Peavy mowed down 12 Colorado batters as the Sea Isle Seagulls outscored
the Colorado Scrub NL 2 10 to 3.
 
Peavy(8-7) put on a good performance.  He gave up just 4 hits and 2 walks in 9
innings and surrendered 2 'long-bombs'.  Sea Isle finished with 14 hits in
the victory.  
 
Cha Seung Baek(1-10) absorbed the loss.  He was unable to control the Sea Isle
offense and allowed 10 hits and 6 walks in 6 innings.  
 
'Everything felt great' Peavy said. 'I had a good fastball, I felt I could
throw it by everybody tonight.'
