34,375 fans were treated to a fine game at Dolphins Stadium as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end.  The Sunshine State Stalkers scored 5
runs in the 1st inning and won by the slimmest of margins, 6 to 5.
 
Minnesota fell behind quickly as the Sunshine State offense came through in
the first inning as they scored 5 runs on 5 base hits.  The big moment was
provided by Milton Bradley who made the crowd happy when he cracked a two-run
shot (his 25th of the season).  Sunshine State had 8 hits for the afternoon.
 
Carlos Zambrano(13-5) picked up the victory, allowing 5 runs in 7 and 2/3
innings. Kevin Gregg earned the save, his 17th.  Cliff Lee(14-7) absorbed the
loss.  
 
It was another victory for Sunshine State at Dolphins Stadium.  Now their
winning streak stands at 6 games. 'I'm glad to get the win', Zambrano said.
'We've got some good momentum going now.'

At Yankee Stadium the dominant Sea Isle Seagulls outscored the Yardley Oaks 8
to 5.
 
Sea Isle jumped on top of Yardley in the 2nd inning scoring 3 runs utilizing 3
base hits.  Adam Laroche led off and he laced a single.  After an out was
recorded, Brian Schneider came up and he lined a base-hit.  Johnny Damon then
lost the ball over the fence for three runs (his 13th of the season).  After
another out, Chase Utley followed, but he was set down on strikes.  Yardley
had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.  
 
The win went to Jake Peavy(9-7) who allowed 4 runs in 5 innings. Billy Wagner
got the save, his 3rd.  Kevin Slowey(5-5) took the loss.  He allowed a few
too many baserunners giving up 6 hits and 2 walks in 2 and 1/3 innings.

Derek Lowe delivered 8 solid innings as the Atlanta Prohibitioners defeated
the Cherry Hill Maulers by a score of 1 to 0 at Turner Field.
 
The game's lone run was scored in the 5th inning.  Hanley Ramirez smashed a
bases-empty 'big-fly' (his 27th of the season).  Matt Holliday got his chance
to keep things going, but he went down on strikes.  After another out, Brian
McCann dug into the batters box next, but he struck out.  Lowe(8-11) was
helped out by Brian Fuentes who pitched a perfect ninth and recorded his 30th
save.  
 
Roy Halladay(16-6) was tagged with the loss.  He pitched 8 innings giving up
only 4 hits and 1 walk.

hits.  Detroit finished with 13 hits in the victory.  
 
Cook(9-10) was the winner allowing 1 run for the game. The losing pitcher was
Todd Wellemeyer(11-8).  He gave up 9 hits and 1 walk in 5 and 2/3 innings.

The Boston Stranglers edged the Binghamton Brawlers in 15 innings at Shea
Stadium by the score of 3 to 2.
 
The score was tied at 2 after nine.  Boston came out on top in the 15th
inning.  After an out was recorded, Torii Hunter drew a walk.  One out later,
Abreu was running on the next pitch and he stole second.  Delmon Young then
singled.  Young took second on the throw.  Despite losing, Binghamton out-hit
Boston 12 to 8.  
 
Andrew Brown(1-0) allowed no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Joakim Soria was credited with his 24th save.  Joe Nelson(1-6) was
the losing pitcher in relief.
