Cha Seung Baek allowed Clint Hurdle to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete
game as the Colorado Scrub NL 2 topped the Binghamton Brawlers by a score of
9 to 2 at Shea Stadium.

Baek(2-10) had a strong outing. He allowed just 6 hits and 3 walks in 9
innings. Colorado had 13 hits for the night. Kyle Lohse(4-16) ended up with
the loss. He allowed 10 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings.

'After the stretch we have been through lately, this victory is especially
sweet' offered Clint Hurdle. Now, we just have to make this the norm - not
the exception!'

WEB GEMS- Bot 4th: Johnny Damon robbed Doug Mientkiewicz of an extra base hit.

Chipper Jones had 4 hits and 3 RBI and Ryan Dempster allowed 2 hits while
blanking Washington at Nationals Park as the spectacular Sea Isle Seagulls
beat the Washington Scrub NL 1 9 to 0.

Jones was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine day at
their team's expense. He delivered a base-hit in the 2nd inning, stroked a
one-base hit in the 6th inning, slapped a base-hit plating a run in the 7th
inning and blasted a two-run home run (his 18th of the season) in the 9th
inning. Sea Isle banged out 13 hits on the night.

For Dempster(9-6) it was his 2nd shutout this year. Nick Blackburn(5-15) was
the loser. He surrendered 8 hits and 1 walk in 5 innings.
