Pierzynski who made the crowd happy when he lined a one-base hit bringing in two baserunners. Pinehurst totaled 15 hits on the night. Buehrle(7-13) lasted until the end allowing 3 runs for the win. Saul Rivera(1-3) was tagged with the loss in relief. He was unable to control the Pinehurst offense and allowed 9 hits and 2 walks in 2 and 1/3 innings. The win by Pinehurst was very good news as they had been 2-8 of late. Now their seasonal record improves to 52-73. Oakland has a record of 31-91, worst in the division after the loss. Milton Bradley smashed a solo-shot out of the park (his 26th of the season) resulting in an exciting win for Sunshine State and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. Although they lost, Wall St did out-hit Sunshine State 16 to 11. Jesus Colome(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2 innings. Brian Shouse(2-4) was charged with the loss in relief. He delivered a base-hit in the 2nd inning, stroked a one-base hit in the 6th inning, slapped a base-hit plating a run in the 7th inning and blasted a two-run home run (his 18th of the season) in the 9th inning. Sea Isle banged out 13 hits on the night. For Dempster(9-6) it was his 2nd shutout this year. Nick Blackburn(5-15) was the loser. He surrendered 8 hits and 1 walk in 5 innings.
