The Yardley Oaks registered 4 runs in the 3rd inning and had an easy time of
it at Yankee Stadium defeating the Toronto Scrub AL 1 by a score of 8 to
3.
 
Mark Teixeira enjoyed a big day at the plate.  He lined a base-hit in the 2nd
inning and launched a rocket-shot out of the park for a Grand Slam homerun
(his 23rd of the season) in the 3rd inning.  Yardley rapped out 11 hits for
the afternoon.  
 
Ted Lilly(12-10) was the winner allowing 3 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings. Jon
Garland(4-14) was the loser.  He was knocked around pretty good, giving up 8
runs in 5 and 1/3 innings.

The Pinehurst PinOaks edged the Oakland Scrub AL 2 at Camden Yards by the
score of 6 to 5.
 
Pinehurst tallied 3 runs in the bottom of the 4th inning with the help of 3
hits.  Marcus Thames started the attack as he ripped a solo home run (his 8th
of the season).  After an out was recorded, Derek Jeter came to the plate and
drew a walk.  Greg Smith then threw a wild pitch.  Brandon Phillips dug into
the batters box next, but he struck out.  A.J. Pierzynski stepped into the
box and doubled.  Jacoby Ellsbury kept the rally going and slapped a
base-hit.  Ellsbury took second on the throw.  Lyle Overbay was next to the
plate, but was promptly struck out.  Oakland had a chance to come back in the
9th but they came up short.  
 
The win was credited to Johan Santana(9-11) who went 8 innings allowing 5
runs. Santana was helped out by Roy Corcoran who recorded his 9th save.
Smith(7-15) was the losing pitcher.

David Bush whitewashed Wall St on 3 hits as the blistering-hot Sunshine State
Stalkers defeated the Wall St Millionaires by the score of 4 to 0 at Dolphins
Stadium.
 
Bush(14-6) was on top of his game.  He was stingy on the mound, allowing just
3 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings improving his ERA from 4.62 to 4.38.  Sunshine
State had a total of 9 hits for the game.  
 
Edinson Volquez(11-9) was charged with the loss.  'Bush was the man tonight,'
Fredi Gonzalez said.  'He had just about every pitch working.'

The Binghamton Brawlers nipped the Colorado Scrub NL 2 in 10 innings 6 to 5 at
Shea Stadium in a hard fought contest.
 
The score was knotted at 5 after nine innings.  Binghamton won the game in the
10th inning.  Yadier Molina doubled, and an error was also committed, making
Binghamton the victors to the delight of the home town faithful.  Colorado
was out-hit by Binghamton, 10 hits to 7.  
 
Joe Nelson(2-6) allowed no runs in 1 inning, and picked up the victory. Jamey
Wright(6-6) absorbed the loss in relief.  He pitched 1/3 of an inning giving
up 1 hit and no walks.

Paul Maholm tossed a complete game shutout and Johnny Damon had 4 hits and 3
RBI at Nationals Park as the Sea Isle Seagulls, running on all cylinders,
ripped the pitiful Washington Scrub NL 1 by a large 10 to 0 margin.
 
Damon had a big day with his bat.  He doubled in the 3rd inning, lofted a
solo-blast 'downtown' (his 14th of the season) in the 5th inning, delivered a
base-hit in the 7th inning and lined a single scoring two baserunners in the
8th inning.  Sea Isle had a total of 17 hits for the game.  
 
It was the 2nd shutout of the year for Maholm(17-3). Randy Wolf(7-14) was the
loser.  He allowed Sea Isle 10 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings of work.  
 
With the win, Sea Isle continued their winning ways; their streak now stands
at 6 games and counting.
