The left-handed Johnson lost his chance for a no-hitter when Kevin Kouzmanoff singled with nobody out in the 6th inning. Braden Looper(7-14) was charged with the loss. 'When Johnson is on like that it is a tough game to play, no doubt about it,' Manny Acta said. 'He always pitches well against us.' Bronson Arroyo(6-17) finally bested his Minnesota opposite, Matt Garza(10-14), by the score of 2 to 0. Toronto took the lead for good in the 3rd inning scoring one runner using 3 hits. That was all the runs Arroyo needed. Toronto had only 4 hits for the game. Jon Rauch recorded the save, his 14th. The loss was charged to Garza. The win by Toronto was very good news as they had been 2-8 of late. Now their seasonal record improves to 40-84. Not able to get much going in recent weeks, Minnesota is 2-8 of late and now has an overall record of 72-52.
