Third baseman Alex Rodriguez had 4 hits at Yankee Stadium where the Yardley
Oaks beat the Cherry Hill Maulers by the score of 7 to 3.
 
Cherry Hill fell behind quickly as the Yardley offense came through in the
first inning when they tallied 2 runs on 3 hits.  Yardley ended up with 17
hits for the game while Cherry Hill had 7.  
 
Felix Hernandez(7-9) went 6 innings allowing 3 runs for the win. Roy
Oswalt(7-9) absorbed the loss.  He was hit hard and gave up 11 hits and 2
walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.

In a two run game the Pinehurst PinOaks got by the Boston Stranglers in 11
innings by the score of 3 to 1.
 
Both teams were tied at 1 runs apiece after nine innings.  Finally, Pinehurst
pulled the game out in the 11th inning.  Ichiro Suzuki led off the inning for
Pinehurst when he slapped a single.  Evan Longoria stepped up next and he
blasted a two-run home run (his 30th of the season).  After an out was
recorded, Ryan Howard came to the plate and doubled.  Pinehurst had 9 hits
for the afternoon.  
 
Roy Corcoran(3-5) was the winner allowing no runs in 2 innings. Jim Johnson
earned the save, his 1st.  The loss was charged to Ervin Santana(12-8).

The Philadelphia Phranks easily topped the Sunshine State Stalkers; the final
score was 9 to 4.
 
Ubaldo Jimenez(15-7) pitched well enough to earn the win. He surrendered 4
hits and 7 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.  For the game Philadelphia out-hit
Sunshine State 13 to 5.  
 
Hiroki Kuroda(13-9) was hit with the loss.  He allowed 8 hits and 2 walks in 4
and 2/3 innings.  Philadelphia now has a record of 73-53.  Even with the
loss, Sunshine State still has a nice 9-1 record in recent weeks.  They are
76-50 on the season.

Albert Pujols smashed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the very talented Wall St
Millionaires beat the Sea Isle Seagulls by a score of 11 to 7.
 
Pujols enjoyed a fine day at the plate.  He cracked a two-run shot in the 5th
inning and blasted a solo shot (his 25th of the season) in the 7th inning.
Wall St had 14 hits for the game and Sea Isle had 10.  
 
The win went to Matt Cain(9-10) who allowed 4 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings. Billy
Wagner(3-2) suffered the loss in relief.  He surrendered 2 hits and 2 walks
in 2/3 of an inning.

Carlos Villanueva came through with a solid 4 innings and Yadier Molina had 3
base hits and 2 RBI as the Binghamton Brawlers topped the Oakland Scrub AL 2
by a score of 9 to 2 at Shea Stadium.
 
Binghamton took the lead for good in the bottom of the 3rd inning scoring 3
runs on 3 hits.  Darin Erstad started the inning off right when he lashed a
single.  Aaron Rowand was next to the plate, but was promptly struck out.
Jose Reyes then lined a base-hit.  Orlando Hudson was up next and he smacked
a three-run homer (his 3rd of the season).  That early scoring was all that
Jorge Campillo(11-13) needed.  Binghamton out-hit Oakland for the game, 13
hits to 5.  
 
Campillo got help from Villanueva who was credited with his 2nd save.  Greg
Maddux(5-12) was the losing pitcher.  He was touched for 8 hits and 2 walks
in 4 and 2/3 innings.

the ice-cold Washington Scrub NL 1 4 to 1 at Turner Field.
 
Washington was unable to claim the lead after Atlanta went ahead in the 6th
inning scoring one runner.  Atlanta rapped out 9 hits for the afternoon.
 
The victory went to Brandon Webb(11-9) who went 6 innings, allowing 1 run.
Brian Fuentes recorded his 31st save.  Braden Looper(7-15) absorbed the loss.
 
Atlanta won for the 6th straight time.

In a good matchup it was the Detroit 40's 6, the league door-mat Colorado
Scrub NL 2 4 at Coors Field.
 
Zack Greinke(11-8) earned his pay with a solid performance for Detroit.  He
went 7 and 1/3 innings allowing 7 hits and 3 walks and served up 2 'big
flies'.  Detroit had 15 hits overall, while Colorado had 9.  
 
Jonathan Papelbon earned his 28th save.  Zach Duke(4-20) was tagged with the
loss.  He was touched for 9 hits and 6 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.  
 
'I didn't have my best stuff but sometimes you just get lucky,' Greinke said,
'this was one of those times.'

The Minnesota SnowBirds scored 4 runs in the 1st inning and toppled the
Toronto Scrub AL 1 by a 8 to 4 score at Rogers Centre.
 
Jered Weaver*(11-7) had a steady outing.  He was reached for 8 hits and 5
walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.  Weaver* recorded 7 strikeouts.  For the game
Minnesota out-hit Toronto 13 to 9.  
 
The loss was charged to Dana Eveland(5-9).  He allowed a few too many
baserunners giving up 13 hits and 3 walks in 7 innings.
