Manny Corpas(1-9) was the loser in relief. He allowed 1 run and 1 hit in 1/3 of an inning. Jones had a big evening at the plate. He smashed a two-run homer in the 1st inning, smacked a three-run homer (his 21st of the season) in the 2nd inning and ripped a base-knock in the 4th inning. Sea Isle provided plenty of action in the 1st inning when they had 4 runs on 4 hits, the 2nd inning which saw them plate 4 runs on 3 hits and the 8th inning scoring 4 runs. The Sea Isle offense man-handled the Washington pitching staff as they scored in 7 of the 9 innings. The victory went to Ryan Dempster(10-6) who went 8 and 1/3 innings, allowing 5 runs. The loss was charged to Nick Blackburn(5-16). He was touched for 4 homeruns in his 1 and 2/3 innings of work. The winning ways continue for Sea Isle. They now have a record of 8-2 in recent days. With the loss Washington now has a record of 43-84, worst in the division.
