Javier Vazquez(2-16) ended up with the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 9 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings. Kazmir was asked about his big strikeout performance, 'Well, it's a little odd when you rack up these numbers on the road - instead of cheers and a running tally in the stands, everything gets real still and quiet. Ludwick enjoyed a great day at the plate. He lost the ball over the fence for three runs (his 26th of the season) in the 1st inning and doubled emptying the bases in the 4th inning. Sunshine State bats were very productive in the 4th inning which saw them plate 7 runs on 3 hits and the 5th inning which saw them plate 7 runs on 3 hits. Sunshine State had 15 hits for the afternoon while Washington had 10. The win was credited to Hiroki Kuroda(15-9) who went 6 innings allowing 3 runs. Jesus Colome was credited with his 2nd save. Tim Redding(4-15) was the loser. He had trouble throwing strikes and issued 7 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings. The winning ways continue for Sunshine State. They now have a record of 9-1 in recent days.
