They shellacked the Binghamton Brawlers pitching for 11 runs while Josh Beckett(6-3), with relief help from Rafael Perez, held Binghamton to 1 run. Minnesota came up with 5 runs in the top of the 4th inning with the help of 3 hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Placido Polanco who deflated the crowd as he doubled scoring two baserunners. Minnesota had 11 hits overall, while Binghamton had 8. Right fielder Gabe Gross left the yard and had 3 RBI as the Washington Scrub NL 1 defeated the dreadful Toronto Scrub AL 1 in 10 innings by a score of 10 to 9 at Rogers Centre. Both teams were tied at 9 runs apiece after nine innings. Washington ended up winning it in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Yorvit Torrealba delivered a one-base hit. Hank Blalock was a strikeout victim, unable to help out. Lewis took off for second and slid in with a stolen base. Anderson Hernandez stepped in and he was walked intentionally. Scott Hairston came to the plate and doubled. This was a game of many highs and lows for the home town fans, as the lead kept changing - 5 times in all. The win went to Aquilino Lopez(2-3) who allowed no runs in 2 and 2/3 innings. Francisco Cordero earned the save, his 17th. Wil Ledezma(0-1) was tagged with the loss in relief.
