Joe Saunders went 9 strong innings and Adrian Gonzalez had 4 hits and 2 RBI as
the Boston Stranglers ballclub embarrassed the Colorado Scrub NL 2 by the
count of 11 to 0.
 
Boston set the tone of the game in the first inning scoring one runner using 3
hits.  The early run support proved sufficient for Saunders(10-9) and Boston.
That was all the run support Saunders required.  Boston dominated
offensively as they scored in 6 different innings.  
 
Tim Wakefield(2-16) was tagged with the loss.  He allowed 4 homeruns in 6 and
2/3 innings of work.  'Saunders just dominated us' losing pitcher Wakefield
said.  'Hopefully we can get to him the next time around'

J.J. Hardy cracked a homer and Ryan Dempster carried a no-hitter into the 6th
inning as the Sea Isle Seagulls beat the pitiful Oakland Scrub AL 2 in 10
innings by a score of 6 to 3.
 
The score was knotted at 3 after nine innings.  Sea Isle was victorious in the
10th inning.  Vladimir Guerrero got things going when he smashed a solo-shot
out of the park (his 33rd of the season).  Chipper Jones next to the plate
and he lined a base-hit.  Josh Hamilton then grounded into a double play.
Hardy was up next and he singled.  Adam Laroche stepped into the box and
bombed a two-run dinger (his 14th of the season).  Overall Sea Isle out-hit
Oakland 10 to 5.  
 
Billy Wagner(4-2) was the winner allowing no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings.  The
right-handed Dempster lost his no-hit bid when Brandon Inge homered with one
out in the 6th inning.  Chan Ho Park recorded his 4th save.  Kyle
McClellan(0-2) ended up with the loss in relief.  
 
The winning ways continue for Sea Isle.  They now have a record of 9-1 in
recent days.  Oakland has a record of 36-109, worst in the division after the
loss.

The Binghamton Brawlers edged the Wall St Millionaires in 11 innings at Shea
Stadium by the score of 5 to 4.
 
Both teams were tied at 4 runs apiece after nine innings.  Finally, Binghamton
pulled the game out in the 11th inning.  Gabe Kapler laced a single.  Randy
Winn stepped up to the plate and he slapped a one-base hit.  Aaron Rowand
then drew a walk to load the bases.  Alfredo Amezaga came up and he drew a
walk resulting in a mighty exciting win for Binghamton and the 19,964 home
town fans in attendance.  Binghamton managed 9 hits in their victory.  
 
The victory was credited to Joe Nelson(3-6) who went 2 innings, allowing no
runs. Brian Shouse(2-5) was given the loss in relief.  He surrendered 1 run
and 3 hits in 2 and 2/3 innings.  
 
With this win, Binghamton has a 61-82 record.  They have been 3-7 lately.
With the loss Wall St now has a record of 89-57.

Ryan Howard slammed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Mark Buehrle struck out 14
batters at Camden Yards where the Pinehurst PinOaks beat the hapless
Washington Scrub NL 1 by the score of 6 to 5.
 
Howard helped send the fans home happy.  He cracked a two-run shot in the 1st
inning and lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' (his 40th of the season) in the 4th
inning.  Washington threatened in the 9th but Pinehurst was able to put down
the rally.  
 
The winning pitcher was Buehrle(8-15) who allowed 4 runs in 8 innings. Manny
Delcarmen gained credit for his 4th save.  Edwin Jackson(7-11) suffered the
loss.  Pinehurst scored big getting 6 runs off him in 5 and 1/3 innings.
 
'Everything felt great' Buehrle said. 'I had a good fastball, I felt I could
throw it by everybody tonight.'

Alexei Ramirez had 4 hits and 4 RBI as the sizzling Philadelphia Phranks
outscored the struggling Toronto Scrub AL 1 14 to 5.
 
Ramirez had a good evening at the plate.  He blasted a solo shot (his 28th of
the season) in the 4th inning, doubled bringing in two baserunners in the 5th
inning, delivered a one-base hit in the 7th inning and lashed a single
plating a run in the 8th inning.  Philadelphia bats were hot in the 5th
inning which saw them plate 4 runs on 6 hits.  The Philadelphia offense was
great, scoring in 7 of the 9 innings.  
 
The winning pitcher was Tim Lincecum(18-5) who allowed 5 runs in 7 innings.
Andy Sonnanstine(7-15) suffered the loss.  He was knocked around,
surrendering 9 runs in 4 and 2/3 innings.  
 
This win by Philadelphia continues their recent hot streak.  In their last ten
games, they have a record of 10-0.  For the season, they are 87-56.  Cito
Gaston was pretty down after the loss.  'We've really been sputtering along
lately, something like 1-9 in the last week or two.  That won't get it done.'

Carlos Zambrano(15-5) and Derek Lowe(8-13) treated the Sunshine State fans to
a fine pitching duel at Dolphins Stadium.  The Sunshine State Stalkers
eventually emerged as victors over the Atlanta Prohibitioners by the score of
2 to 1.
 
The game started off with Sunshine State taking the lead in the first scoring
one runner utilizing 2 base hits.  After an out was recorded, Dan Uggla
doubled.  Brian Giles stepped up next and he doubled.  Ryan Ludwick then was
hit by a pitch.  After another out, Adam Dunn came to the plate and drew a
walk to load the bases.  Both teams totaled 6 hits on the night.  
 
Takashi Saito earned the save, his 4th.  'I didn't have my best stuff but
sometimes you just get lucky,' Zambrano said, 'this was one of those times.'

Carlos Pena launched 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI at Metrodome as the dominant
Minnesota SnowBirds beat the Detroit 40's by the count of 5 to 3.
 
Pena made sure the Minnesota fans enjoyed themselves.  He blasted a two-run
home run in the 1st inning and smashed a two-run homer (his 19th of the
season) in the 8th inning.  Jose Arredondo(6-1) was helped out by Mariano
Rivera who pitched a perfect ninth and recorded his 30th save.  
 
Zack Greinke(13-9) was the losing pitcher.  He was touched for 3 homeruns in
his 7 and 2/3 innings of work.  Minnesota now has a record of a division
leading 86-57.  Detroit has a record of 84-59 after the loss.
