The Boston Stranglers won by the slimmest of margins, 4 to 3. Jon Lester(11-9) pitched a fine game. He went 6 innings surrendering 3 hits and 2 walks. Boston took care of Philadelphia with no trouble in the bottom of the 9th. Lester got relief help from Joakim Soria who gained credit for his 30th save. Ubaldo Jimenez(16-8) was the losing pitcher. He struck out 11 batters in 7 innings despite losing the game.
