the pitiful Toronto Scrub AL 1 by a score of 8 to 2 at Rogers
Centre.
 
Armando Galarraga(13-9) gave Cherry Hill a solid outing.  He was reached for 4
hits and no walks in 6 innings and gave up 2 homeruns.  Cherry Hill ended up
with 14 hits for the game while Toronto had 5.  
 
Jon Garland(4-18) took the loss.  He gave up 3 runs and 7 hits in 5 and 1/3
innings.

from the bullpen as the Boston Stranglers outscored the Minnesota SnowBirds 5
to 1.
 
Saunders(11-10) looked very much in control throughout the night.  He was
stingy on the mound, allowing just 7 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings.  Boston
totaled 14 hits on the night.  
 
Jered Weaver*(13-8) was hit with the loss. He was knocked around by Boston,
allowing 12 hits and 3 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.

Third baseman Melvin Mora smashed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Detroit 40's
defeated the Yardley Oaks 10 to 8 at Comerica Park.
 
It was a good day for Detroit thanks to Mora.  He cracked a solo homerun in
the 1st inning and blasted a two-run home run (his 3rd of the season) in the
6th inning.  Detroit had a total of 12 hits for the game.  
 
The win went to Brian Tallet(3-0) who allowed no runs in 2 innings. Jonathan
Papelbon gained credit for his 35th save.  Frank Francisco(3-2) was charged
with the loss in relief.

Oakland Scrub AL 2 in 10 innings 6 to 5.
 
The score was knotted at 5 after nine innings.  Pinehurst came out on top in
the 10th inning.  Jeter ripped a base-knock.  Brandon Phillips next to the
plate and he doubled giving Pinehurst the victory as 13,272 happy fans
celebrated wildly.  A wild affair, this game saw the lead change 5 times.
 
Leo Nunez(4-1) went 1 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory. George
Sherrill(2-11) suffered the loss in relief.  He allowed 1 run and 2 hits in
1/3 of an inning.

at Wrigley Field where the amazing Sea Isle Seagulls beat the Wall St
Millionaires in 10 innings 9 to 2.
 
The score was knotted at 2 after nine innings.  Sea Isle won the hard fought
contest in the 10th inning.  The big moment was provided by Hardy who
silenced the crowd when he launched a Grand Slam homerun (his 26th of the
season).  Sea Isle had 12 hits for the night while Wall St had 8.  
 
Jonathan Broxton(3-3) got the win allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. Juan
Cruz(5-2) was the losing pitcher in relief.  He pitched 2/3 of an inning
giving up 2 hits and 1 walk.

John Lannan took a no-hitter into the 6th inning as the Binghamton Brawlers
defeated the Sunshine State Stalkers by a score of 12 to 8 at Shea
Stadium.
 
Lannan(15-9) pitched well for Binghamton in their victory.  He went 6 innings
surrendering 2 hits and 4 walks.  The left-handed Lannan had his no-hit bid
broken up by Ryan Theriot who singled with one out in the 6th inning.
Binghamton out-hit Sunshine State for the game, 12 hits to 5.  
 
Scott Olsen(8-3) was the losing pitcher.  He was unable to control the
Binghamton offense and allowed 9 hits and 2 walks in 2 and 2/3 innings.

Derek Lowe(9-13) had a solid outing for Atlanta.  He allowed 5 hits and 1 walk

At Nationals Park the powerful Philadelphia Phranks easily handled the
Washington Scrub NL 1 by the score of 6 to 2.
 
Philadelphia drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning
scoring one runner on 2 hits.  Washington was out-hit by Philadelphia, 13
hits to 8.  
 
The victory went to Ubaldo Jimenez(17-8) who went 6 innings, allowing 1 run.
Edwin Jackson(8-12) was the losing pitcher.  He was unable to control the
Philadelphia offense and allowed 12 hits and 2 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.
