Jeff Baker went yard and had 3 RBI as the Toronto Scrub AL 1 topped the Cherry
Hill Maulers by a score of 4 to 3 at Rogers Centre.
 
Toronto tallied 2 runs in the 6th inning.  Ryan Church led off and he hit a
single.  Jack Cust was next to the plate, but was promptly struck out.  One
out later, Baker stepped in and he cracked a two-run shot (his 7th of the
season).  Bill Hall got his chance to keep things going, but he went down on
strikes.  Toronto had 7 hits for the night.  
 
The win was credited to Andy Sonnanstine(9-15) who went 6 innings allowing 3
runs. Jon Rauch gained credit for his 18th save.  C.C. Sabathia(22-10) took
the loss.

Troy Glaus had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the strong Minnesota SnowBirds defeated the
Boston Stranglers in 16 innings by the score of 13 to 12 at Metrodome.
 
Both teams were tied at 11 runs apiece after nine innings.  Minnesota ended up
winning it in the 16th inning.  After an out was recorded, Joe Mauer banged
out a single.  After another out, Glaus came to the plate and doubled making
Minnesota the victors to the delight of the home town faithful.  Both teams
finished the game with 19 hits.  
 
Craig Breslow(1-1) was the winner allowing no runs in 2 innings. The loss was
charged to Jesse Carlson(1-4) in relief.  He gave up 2 hits and no walks in 1
and 2/3 innings.

Matt Joyce enjoyed a fine day at the plate.  He doubled in the 1st inning and
emptied the bases with a Grand Slam homerun (his 2nd of the season) in the
9th inning.  Oakland had a total of 12 hits for the game.  
 
For Smith(8-20) it was his 2nd shutout this year. Adam Wainwright(6-9) was the
loser.  He surrendered 7 hits and 3 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.

Brawlers 4 to 1.
 
Justin Duchscherer(12-3) gave Sunshine State a solid outing.  He surrendered 5
hits and 2 walks in 6 innings.  Sunshine State finished with 14 hits while
Binghamton ended up with 6.  
 
Jesus Colome earned the save, his 4th.  Mike Pelfrey(9-15) took the loss.  He

Oliver Perez(5-15) had a fairly solid outing.  He was reached for 7 hits and 4
walks in 6 innings.  Perez mowed down 8 Atlanta batters and surrendered 2
'long-bombs'.  Atlanta had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.
 
Matt Lindstrom got the save, his 5th.  Tim Hudson(9-5) ended up with the loss.
He allowed Colorado 5 runs in 4 and 2/3 innings of work.

Left fielder Ryan Braun lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 2 RBI as the
Philadelphia Phranks defeated the hapless Washington Scrub NL 1 by a score of
9 to 6 at Nationals Park.
 
Josh Johnson(5-3) pitched well enough to earn the win.  He allowed 4 hits and
8 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.  Washington scored in 5 different innings, but
their shaky pitching kept them from victory.  
 
Nick Blackburn(5-21) ended up with the loss.  He allowed 5 homeruns in 7 and
1/3 innings of work.
