Atlanta scored what proved to be the only run of the contest in the 4th inning. After an out was recorded, Matt Holliday laced a base-hit. After another out, Brian McCann stepped up to the plate and he doubled. Boston had a chance in the 9th but they came up short. Hudson(10-5) got the win allowing no runs in 8 innings. Brian Fuentes was credited with his 38th save. Jon Lester(11-11) was hit with the loss. John Lannan(16-9) was solid if not spectacular. He surrendered 4 hits and 4 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings and surrendered 2 homeruns. Binghamton finished with 8 hits while Pinehurst ended up with 5. Chad Qualls recorded the save, his 20th. John Lackey(7-14) was given the loss. He was touched for 7 hits and 3 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.
