WEB GEMS- Top 6th: Justin Morneau robbed Greg Dobbs of a base hit.

Center fielder Grady Sizemore slammed a homerun and Aaron Cook allowed just 3
hits as the Detroit 40's defeated the Sea Isle Seagulls by a score of 7 to 1
at Comerica Park.

Detroit tallied 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning when they had 3 base
hits. The big moment was provided by Justin Morneau who brought the crowd to
their feet when he cracked a two-run shot (his 30th of the season). Detroit
banged out 12 hits on the night.

The victory went to Cook(13-13) who went the distance allowing 1 run. Paul
Maholm(20-5) was the losing pitcher. He surrendered 7 hits and 2 walks in 5
innings.

When questioned about his counterpart after the game, Maholm was lavish in his
praise, 'It was obvious very early on that we were going to be in for a long
night. Cook brought his 'A' game with him - he had good stuff and was able
to spot it perfectly. He probably only made one or two bad pitches the
entire game!

Lincecum(21-5) pitched well for Philadelphia in their victory. He was reached

Philadelphia had a total of 9 hits for the game.

Lincecum got relief help from Joel Hanrahan who gained credit for his 3rd
save. Armando Galarraga(13-10) took the loss. Lincecum was asked about his
big strikeout performance, 'Well, it's a little odd when you rack up these
numbers on the road - instead of cheers and a running tally in the stands,
everything gets real still and quiet. Just strange - but it's nice to be
able to take the crowd out of the game.'
