Pinehurst tallied 7 runs in the 7th inning when they had 4 base hits. The big moment was provided by Howard who silenced the crowd when he doubled with all three runners coming home. Barry Zito went the distance at PNC Park as the Sea Isle Seagulls, running on all cylinders, ripped the Binghamton Brawlers by a large 12 to 2 margin. Justin Upton helped send the fans home happy. He doubled in the 3rd inning, launched a Grand Slam homerun in the 4th inning and lined a single bringing in two baserunners in the 5th inning. Sea Isle finished with 15 hits in the victory. The win went to Zito(2-0) who allowed 2 runs in the game. John Maine(1-1) was the loser. He was not very effective, surrendering 7 runs in 3 and 1/3 innings. 'I had good swings today,' Upton said, 'Everything felt right'. Yardley had the winning rally in the 9th inning scoring 2 runs using 2 hits. Mark Teixeira led off and started the attack as he banged out a single. Upton was running on the next pitch and he stole second. Alex Rodriguez then bombed a two-run dinger. Robinson Cano followed, but he was set down on strikes. Lance Cormier(1-0) was helped out by Joe Nathan who pitched a perfect ninth and recorded his 5th save. Kyle McClellan(0-1) was given the loss in relief. Joe Girardi was feeling mighty fine as he answered questions in his office after the game, 'Now that was one fine ending! Did you see how the crowd just sat there in silence after the winning run scored? Here we are celebrating wildly, and the stadium is cloaked in virtual silence. Weird. but GREAT!' Wall St won the game with a run in the top of the 9th inning. After an out was recorded, Rafael Furcal doubled. One out later, Ryan Zimmerman came to the plate and stroked a single. Cincinnati proved to be no trouble in the bottom of the 9th. The winning pitcher was Brian Wilson(2-0) who allowed no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. D.J. Carrasco(1-1) suffered the loss in relief. With this win, Wall St has a 8-4 record. They have been 7-3 lately. Clint Hurdle was pretty down after the loss. 'We've really been sputtering along lately, something like 1-9 in the last week or two. That won't get it done.'
