Kevin Youkilis left the yard and had 3 RBI as the Sunshine State Stalkers
defeated the Washington Scrub NL 1 by a score of 7 to 2 at Nationals
Park.
 
Sunshine State had 3 runs cross the plate in the top of the 2nd inning when
they had 3 base hits.  Youkilis led off and keyed the rally when he drew a
walk.  Brad Hawpe came next and he doubled.  Mike Cameron then hit a single.
John Baker followed and he reached on an error.  Asdrubal Cabrera came to the
plate and would ground out.  Nick Johnson joined his teammates in the
uprising and laced a base-knock.  That was all the offense they were to need.
For the game Sunshine State out-hit Washington 12 to 6.  
 
Johnny Cueto(2-0) went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Cueto
got help from Angel Guzman who was credited with his 1st save.  The losing
pitcher was Nick Blackburn(1-3).  He got hit pretty hard, allowing 9 hits and
4 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.  
 
Sunshine State continued their winnings ways improving their record to a
division leading 11-2.  They are 8-2 in their last ten games.  With the loss,
Washington has a record of 3-7 lately, 5-8 overall.

In a two run game the Detroit 40's got by the Baltimore Scrub AL 1 in 12
innings by the score of 5 to 3.
 
The score was tied at 3 after nine.  Detroit won the game in the 12th inning.
Marlon Byrd kicked off the action when he was hit by a pitch.  Jorge Posada
stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk.  After an out was recorded, Lyle
Overbay came up and he reached on an error.  After another out, Dustin
Pedroia stepped in and he was walked intentionally.  Michael Young followed,
but he was set down on strikes.  Detroit finished with 10 hits in the
victory.  
 
The victory was credited to Darren Oliver(2-0) who went 3 and 2/3 innings,
allowing no runs. Chad Durbin(0-2) was the loser in relief.  He surrendered 2
runs and 2 hits in 3 and 2/3 innings.

Javier Vazquez whiffed 11 batters and left fielder Andre Ethier cracked a
homer as the Atlanta Prohibitioners topped the Philadelphia Phranks by a
score of 3 to 2 at Citizen's Bank Park.
 
Vazquez(1-1) had a solid outing for Atlanta.  He went 7 and 2/3 innings
surrendering 7 hits and no walks improving his ERA from 6.08 to 4.71.
Atlanta banged out 8 hits on the afternoon.  
 
Jose Valverde got the save, his 2nd.  The losing pitcher was Joe Blanton(0-3).
Vazquez, when asked about his 11 strikeout performance noted, 'The important
thing is that we won, if I get 20 and we lose, what good does it do our team?
But, on the other hand, since we won it feels great!'

Roy Halladay took a no-hitter into the 6th inning and Mike Napoli hit one over
the fence and had 2 RBI as the Cherry Hill Maulers beat the Yardley Oaks in
14 innings by a score of 4 to 3.
 
The score was tied at 1 after nine.  Cherry Hill came out the victor in the
14th inning.  Napoli smacked a single.  Jack Wilson stepped up next and he
delivered a single.  Chone Figgins dug into the batters box next, but he
struck out.  Jacoby Ellsbury stepped in and he hit a sacrifice fly.  Joe
Thatcher then threw one that got by the catcher for a passed ball.  The teams
had been locked in a scoreless duel until the 7th inning.  
 
Brandon Lyon(1-0) got the win allowing no runs in 2 innings.  The right-handed
Halladay lost his chance for a no-hitter when Erick Aybar singled with one
out in the 6th inning.  Lance Cormier(1-1) ended up with the loss in relief.

54,348 fans watched an exciting game at Metrodome.  The Pinehurst PinOaks
topped the Minnesota SnowBirds by the slimmest of margins, 3 to 2.
 
The score was knotted at 2 after nine innings.  Pinehurst ended up winning it
in the 11th inning.  After an out was recorded, Ryan Howard delivered a solo
blast.  One out later, Evan Longoria stepped in and he drew a walk.  Juan
Rivera then slapped a single.  Pinehurst took care of Minnesota with no
trouble in the bottom of the 11th.  
 
The winning pitcher was Danys Baez(1-1) who allowed no runs in 1/3 of an
inning. Baez got help from Alfredo Aceves who earned his 1st save.  Frank
Francisco(0-1) took the loss in relief.

First baseman Adrian Gonzalez had 3 base hits and 2 RBI and Mark Buehrle had a
strong outing as the Boston Stranglers topped the Oakland Scrub AL 2 by a
score of 3 to 0 at McAfee Coliseum.
 
The game started off with Boston taking the lead in the first scoring a single
run utilizing 3 base hits.  That early scoring was all that Buehrle(1-1)
needed.  Oakland was out-hit by Boston, 7 hits to 2.  
 
Buehrle was helped out by David Aardsma who recorded his 4th save.  Vicente
Padilla(1-1) absorbed the loss.  With this win, Boston has a division leading
9-4 record.  They have been 6-4 lately.  With the loss, the Oakland
ballclub's record is 4-9, worst in the division.

Wall St Millionaires by the score of 8 to 5 at Coors Field.
 
Jeff Fulchino(1-0) was called upon to do the job and he was the winning
pitcher.  He allowed 1 hit and 1 walk in 1 and 2/3 innings.  Binghamton had
12 hits for the afternoon.  
 
Ryan Franklin was credited with his 4th save. Brian Wilson(2-1) was tagged
with the loss in relief.  He pitched 1 and 1/3 innings allowing 3 hits and 1
