WEB GEMS- Bot 6th: Jacoby Ellsbury robbed Michael Cuddyer of an extra base hit.

In a thriller the Cherry Hill Maulers staged a dramatic comeback then held on
to win over the Yardley Oaks by a score of 6 to 5 at Yankee Stadium.

Cherry Hill won the game with a rally in the top of the 9th inning when they
tallied 5 runs on 5 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Alexei Ramirez
who deflated the crowd as he lined a base-hit bringing in two baserunners.
Overall Cherry Hill out-hit Yardley 11 to 8.

C.C. Sabathia(2-1) picked up the victory, allowing 4 runs in 8 innings. Heath
Bell earned the save, his 2nd. Scott Downs(0-1) was tagged with the loss in
relief.

Joe Girardi was understandably not very talkative after his team's tough loss.
He quickly showered and changed and when asked about the game had a terse,
yet polite response, 'Hey fellows, that game was a heart-breaker to lose.
Our guys gave it their all and played well - fate just wasn't smilin' on us
this afternoon'

Pablo Sandoval smashed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at Coors Field as the Wall St
Millionaires staged a comeback win over the Binghamton Brawlers by the count
of 6 to 5.

Wall St had the game winning rally in the 9th inning with 2 runs using 4 hits.
After an out was recorded, Placido Polanco got things going when he
delivered a base-hit. Nyjer Morgan followed and he stroked a single. Rafael
Furcal then slapped a single. Albert Pujols struck out, unable to help the
rally. Ryan Zimmerman stepped into the box and laced a base-knock. The game
was a wild affair with the lead changing hands 6 times.

The winning pitcher was Latroy Hawkins(1-0) who allowed no runs in 1 and 1/3
innings. Ryan Franklin(1-1) absorbed the loss in relief. He surrendered 3
hits and no walks in 2/3 of an inning.

'We just kept swinging the bats and didn't give up,' Sandoval said. 'If you
just keep trying good things can happen!'
