Nyjer Morgan followed and he stroked a single. Rafael Furcal then slapped a single. Albert Pujols struck out, unable to help the rally. Ryan Zimmerman stepped into the box and laced a base-knock. The game was a wild affair with the lead changing hands 6 times. The winning pitcher was Latroy Hawkins(1-0) who allowed no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. Ryan Franklin(1-1) absorbed the loss in relief. He surrendered 3 hits and no walks in 2/3 of an inning. 'We just kept swinging the bats and didn't give up,' Sandoval said. 'If you just keep trying good things can happen!'
