Robinson Tejeda was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game and right fielder J.D. Drew had 4 hits and 5 RBI at McAfee
Coliseum as the seemingly unstoppable Minnesota SnowBirds beat the Oakland
Scrub AL 2 by the count of 11 to 3.
Drew enjoyed a big day at the plate. He doubled in the 3rd inning, stroked a
one-base hit which plated a run in the 5th inning, doubled scoring a run in
the 7th inning and lofted a three-run 'big-fly' in the 8th inning. Minnesota
banged out 18 hits on the afternoon.
The victory went to Tejeda(3-2) who went the distance allowing 3 runs. The
losing pitcher was Zach Duke(2-3). He got hit pretty hard, allowing 12 hits
and 2 walks in 6 innings.
'I had a big day, but there's a lot of credit to go around' Drew said. 'We
played well together as a team.'

Prince Fielder cracked a homer and had 4 RBI at Citizen's Bank Park where the
Philadelphia Phranks beat the Sunshine State Stalkers 11 to 4.
Fielder helped send the fans home happy. He hit a bases-empty home run in the
7th inning and doubled with all three runners coming home in the 8th inning.
Philadelphia finished with 18 hits while Sunshine State ended up with 12.
George Sherrill(3-0) went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the win. The
losing pitcher was Francisco Rodriguez(2-3) in relief. He pitched 2/3 of an
inning and surrendered 3 hits and no walks.

Mike Napoli cracked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Cherry Hill Maulers
defeated the Detroit 40's by a score of 6 to 3 at US Cellular Field.
The Cherry Hill fans enjoyed the offense provided by Napoli. He lifted one
out of the park for a two run home run in the 2nd inning and blasted a
two-run home run in the 4th inning. Heath Bell was perfect in relief and got
the save, his 4th.
Jake Peavy(3-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 innings and allowing 3
runs. The loss was charged to Edwin Jackson(3-1). He was knocked around
pretty good, giving up 5 runs in 3 and 2/3 innings.

Verlander(1-1) pitched a fine game. He went 8 and 1/3 innings surrendering 9
hits and 2 walks lowering his ERA to 3.86. Overall Yardley out-hit Baltimore
14 to 9.
Scott Kazmir(1-3) was given the loss. Yardley scored big getting 6 runs off
him in 5 innings. 'He was really impressive today,' Kazmir said of his
counterpart. 'Our guys were just swinging at air.'

Daniel Murphy blasted a homerun and had 2 RBI at Turner Field as the
Washington Scrub NL 1 beat the Atlanta Prohibitioners 4 to 2.
Washington came up with the deciding runs in the top of the 9th inning scoring
2 runs utilizing 2 base hits. Carlos Quentin led off and started the rally
when he was hit by a pitch. Murphy was next and he doubled. Jay Bruce was
the next batter, but he struck out. Clint Barmes came up and he worked the
squeeze play to perfection. After another out, Luis Castillo stepped in and
he lined a base-hit. The Atlanta batters went down meekly in the bottom of
the 9th.
The victory was credited to Aaron Harang(2-3) who went 8 innings, allowing 2
runs. Chan Ho Park gained credit for his 2nd save. Javier Vazquez(2-2) was
charged with the loss.

Jesus Flores had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Sea Isle Seagulls defeated the
Cincinnati Scrub NL 2 4 to 2 at PNC Park.
Sea Isle started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of
the first as they scored 3 runs on 4 base hits. That was all Barry Zito(3-0)
needed. Sea Isle ended up with 9 hits for the game while Cincinnati had 5.
Jonathan Broxton got the save, his 4th. Brian Bannister(0-3) absorbed the
loss. He surrendered 9 hits and 1 walk in 7 and 2/3 innings.

started the attack as he doubled. Randy Ruiz came next and he drew a walk.
Bartlett then clubbed a three-run home run. Pinehurst was out-hit by Boston,

John Maine came through with a solid 9 innings at Coors Field where the
Binghamton Brawlers beat the Wall St Millionaires 3 to 0.
Wall St never recovered after Binghamton took the lead in the 5th inning
scoring a single run on 2 hits. After an out was recorded, Angel Pagan
doubled. Orlando Hudson stepped up next and he singled. Derrek Lee then
grounded into a double play. Binghamton rapped out 10 hits for the
afternoon.
For Maine(2-2) it was his 2nd shutout this year. Ted Lilly(0-2) was tagged
with the loss. Lou Piniella lamented, 'Maine was really aggressive today.
He kept coming after our hitters. Heck, why not. he kept sitting our guys
down one after another - like so many bowling pins!'
