Michael Cuddyer rocketed 3 homeruns and had 7 RBI as the Yardley Oaks
outscored the Cherry Hill Maulers 11 to 2.

Cuddyer was really 'in the zone'. He lofted a three-run bomb in the 1st
inning, lifted one out of the park for a two run home run in the 3rd inning
and cleared the fences for a two-run home run in the 5th inning.
Offensively, Yardley was a juggernaut. They scored in 6 separate innings.

The win was credited to Felix Hernandez(3-0) who went 6 and 2/3 innings
allowing 2 runs. C.C. Sabathia(2-3) suffered the loss. He was touched for 5
homeruns in his 6 and 1/3 innings of work.

'I just got in the box, looked for a pitch and swung,' Cuddyer said. 'That's
it'

WILD PITCHES- B.Bergesen

Paul Konerko blasted 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI at Metrodome as the Pinehurst
PinOaks beat the Minnesota SnowBirds 10 to 2.

Konerko was in a groove all day. The Minnesota fans hated to see him
approaching the batter's box. He smashed a two-run homer in the 3rd inning,
doubled in the 6th inning, lashed a single plating a run in the 7th inning
and smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in the 9th inning. Pinehurst ended up
with 15 hits for the game while Minnesota had 9.

The winning pitcher was Brad Bergesen(1-0) who allowed 2 runs in 8 innings.
Brian Duensing(1-2) took the loss. He was unable to control the Pinehurst
offense and allowed 9 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.

Konerko was jubilant after the game 'Let me see a box-score' he joked, 'I want
to see how that game looks on paper.'

the 6th inning and cracked a solo homerun in the 8th inning. Binghamton
threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.

the loss. He served up 4 homeruns in his 6 and 1/3 innings.

'They made a couple of mistakes and I took full advantage,' Laroche said 'next
time I'm sure they'll pitch me tougher.'

Scrub NL 2 by the count of 3 to 2.

Carpenter(3-0) looked very much in control throughout the day. He didn't give
up much, just 4 hits and 1 walk in 8 and 1/3 innings reducing his ERA from
3.20 to 2.67. Cincinnati had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came
up short.
