Tommy Hanson pitched a complete game and Joey Votto left the yard and had 3
RBI at Citizen's Bank Park as the Philadelphia Phranks beat the Washington
Scrub NL 1 by the count of 9 to 1.

Philadelphia wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning scoring 3
runs using 4 hits. Andrew McCutchen kicked off the action when he banged out
a single. Two outs later McCutchen took his lead and swiped second. Prince
Fielder then laced a one-base hit. Votto was up next and he cracked a
two-run shot. Scott Rolen stepped into the box and slapped a base-hit. Jon
Garland then fired a sharp breaking ball that appeared to cross-up the
catcher. In any event, it got by him and was ruled a passed ball. That
early scoring was all that Hanson(2-0) needed. Philadelphia had 18 hits for
the afternoon.

Garland(0-4) suffered the loss. He gave up 8 runs in 4 and 2/3 innings and
saw his ERA jump from 3.08 to 4.22.
